• Corporations Are Not People
The Town Council of my community, Fairfield, Maine, unanimously supported such an amendment. The Maine legislature followed suit, as have a number of states. Democracy should not be dictated by the highest bidder. "Here, the people rule" does not translate as "the wealthy people." The people's democracy must be resurrected. Amendment of the constitution is the way this will happen.

  • Bring Costco to Pensacola, Florida
Pensacola, Florida is a thriving city, with forward thinking residents who care about the environment, the economy, and the well being of it's fellow citizens. Pensacola wants to support companies who support their employees and treat their employees with respect and dignity. The residents of Pensacola would like other shopping options besides the likes of Sam's Club and Walmart so that we can embrace the ideology of people receiving living wages for quality work. We don't want to support the Walmarts of the world, but until we have other options, it is difficult to maintain that ideology. We would also love to help Costco build a Green/LEED certified facility here, as many of our residents support eco-friendly building practices.

  • Protect the Minorities from Ongoing Mayhem in Bangladesh
Bangladeshi Minorities have been going through a systematic ethnic cleansing cycle since 1947. The minority population has dropped from 28% in 1941 to 8% in 2013. Right after the national election held in January 5th, 2014, many Bangladeshi Hindus are murdered, raped and tortured for petty political and religious bias. Bangladesh has failed badly to protect the minorities when they are the most vulnerable. As US citizens, we are urging our President, Governors, Congress and Senate leaders to take this human right violation as a serious failure of Bangladesh. The minorities of Bangladesh should be allowed to live peacefully and safely with others. • Parents opposed to Governor Cuomo's "merit pay" for "highly effective" Teachers
We parents value excellence in our teachers. We value their ability to effectively teach and to inspire our children to learn and develop myriad types of success throughout their lives. Our teachers should never need to compete with each other in this way; they should work together for the good of all of our children. This competition for “merit” pay will also lead to an increased emphasis on testing and teaching to those tests – rather than on teaching our children how to learn and how to develop their best talents and abilities. It will discriminate against teachers who work with ELL students, Special Needs students and students who live in poverty, and lead to an exodus of experienced teachers from high poverty districts.

  • Chris Christie: RESIGN
The irresponsible petty retribution and frat boy politics of the governor's office. The governor was abusive and dismissive of any person that raised a question. As previously noted, he is a bully.

  • Pay for unemployment benefits with corporate welfare.
I am tired of using my taxes to pay for costs that rich corporations have shifted to the American taxpayer. If the House is so concerned about reducing the debt, start with the companies who are contributing to that debt.

  • Bring ShowNet back to WEF
We are disappointed that ShowNet is not available this 2014 season. The ShowgroundsLive system does not offer the trainers and exhibitors enough up to the minute information to allow us to get through the busy days. We also would like to be able to view our videos at night and at the completion of each show. As exhibitors we need to be able to make our days run as smoothly as possible and ShowNet has proved to be extremely helpful at this. We would like to strongly request to ESP Management that it be made available as soon as possible.
