• Extend Emergency Unemployment Benefits
I am starting this petition because I know how few jobs there are and how many people cannot make ends meet. I have personally experienced losses beyond what I could have previously imagined, but what is happening to those less fortunate is a tragedy.

  • Authorize America's First Coast to Coast Trail
The American Discovery Trail is the nation's only coast-to-coast trail. Though many have completed the entire trail, much of the route cannot yet be marked as it is not part of the National Trails System. This no cost, designation-only bill will greatly boost tourism in hundreds of small towns and major cities across America without limiting future development.

  • Congressman McClintock: Extend Jobless Aid for 220k in CA
Congress failed to act, yet again, and unemployment benefits that help millions of long-term unemployed workers and their families are expiring. The Economic Policy Institute estimates that this will cost the economy $37.8 billion and 310,000 jobs. Denying jobless aid isn't just economically reckless -- it's morally wrong. Unemployed workers are being dropped off the rolls daily. That's why we need to let Congressman Tom McClintock know that his district supports extending a lifeline to long-term unemployed workers.

  • Unfair Deportation
My son-in-law, who has been in this country since he was a teenager, was racially profiled, stopped, and arrested in the small town of Fincastle, Virginia where they promptly notified I.C.E. and had a detainer placed on him. Less than 3 weeks later, he was dropped in a Mexican border town without ever having appeared in front of a judge and without signing a voluntary removal document. These types of deportations are happening at a rate of 1,100 per day and must be stopped!! I.C.E. and local authorities are intentionally profiling immigrants to boost their numbers instead of spending their resources to deport terrorists and felons who are a serious threat to our nation. They are showing a blatant disregard for the President's executive order to only deport "high priority immigrants" and to use discretion when dealing with aliens with strong family and community ties to America. I.C.E. must be stopped!

According to news reports, the two congressman were shocked by the extent to which at least one foreign state was involved in the preparation and execution of the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. They are, however, bound by federal restrictions from divulging the name of the country which figured most prominently in those pages.
