• Require electric companies to support solar electrical production by their customers
Energy production in the USA is critical to support our commerce and economic systems. It has become a matter of national security as well. It is imperative that we catch up to the advancement in green electrical production by other countries - like Germany among others - which are successfully generating a large percentage of their electricity this way. Not only is this a necessary economic solution but it is also a much needed advancement in the reduction of pollutants that aggravate Global Warming. It is also necessary in order to reduce the danger that nuclear power plants pose to the survival of the species.

  • Free Candice Holloway
Candice is my family and I did not know this was going on. We need to help her to gain her freedom from an unconstitutional incarceration. What makes it illegal is that she suffers from battered women's syndrome and had ineffective assistance of counsel forcing her to plea to avoid the death penalty when she had a true defense and the boyfriend got life. For testifying against the boyfriend Connell Williams she got thirty years, five years supervised probation all while injured. I am really fighting the control that men can exhibit over women until they snap or are under vise of what we call battered women. I am in no way condoning the death of the child, but the legal aspect of the procedure used to impose punishment upon Candice. Personally I truly believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty and not in the court of public opinion. I appreciate everyone's concern over this matter and I would love to get your support on the fact that justice needs to be served to allow her the opportunity to get help - not prison as the law allows. Thanks so much. Looking forward to your response.

  • Destruction of NJ Garden State Parkway Communities by NJTA: Noise Mitigation NOW!
We are angry at the hubris of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the misery they have wrought on the communities that live along the NJ Garden State Parkway. This huge construction project they are conducting coined as a "Safety Project" has destroyed hundreds of trees exposing communities to the nonstop heavy traffic that travels the Parkway. This has exposed the adjacent communities to excessive levels of noise and fumes that endangers their health, destroys their sleep, the value of their homes, and their very quality of life.

  • CBS: Fire Lara Logan
A deliberate distortion and failure of journalism in the presentation of Benghazi attack, all intended to embarrass and slander the President of the United States and his former Secretary of State. Knowingly broadcasting a false story by an admitted liar Lara Logan is not an objective journalist. She lied. She must be fired.

  • Texas Mothers Put their Children Ahead of Monsanto....
I have started this petition because I am a scientist and a mother who cares about my family and other families. The objective science clearly demonstrates the significant harm GMOs and the associated 200 fold increase in herbicide/pesticide use has caused. Everyone has been touched by cancers... Celiac.... Type 2 diabetes... All things that our get grandparents never knew at these rates. Cancer is now the number one killer of our precious children. It is no coincidence that the health crisis associated with the increase of these life stealing diseases, coincides perfectly with the introduction and proliferation of GMOs in our food supply.

  • Cattle Ranchers Must Pick Up the Manure of Their Herds Before it Can Contaminate Public Waters
Cow manure can be used as a fuel source that provides energy & control burns methane which is otherwise released into the atmosphere, & when left unharvested it contaminates water supplies. "Methane has a global warming effect that is 21 times that of carbon dioxide, so using the methane for energy production significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions. And because manure that is used in the biogas plant is not washed off land surfaces into local rivers and streams, the local watershed also benefits." http://www.seco.cpa.state.tx.us/energy-sources/biomass/manure.php As United States citizens, we are all co-owners of public wildlands-- including state parks, national forests, parks, & seashores, BLM land, & many other public land types. Many citizens do not purchase or consume dairy or beef, & as co-owners of these lands & waters, it is imperative that these land spaces are protected in the name of every individual. It is unfair that those who don't consume these products should have our lands, water, & air polluted by their production. Also, cow manure can be utilized as an alternative energy source to hydraulic fracturing aka "fracking". HELP SAVE OUR WATER, LAND, & AIR BY SIGNING THIS PETITION MY FELLOW AMERICANS!<3

  • Let's put an end to bullying together.
Since I've started high school, there have been three suicides. The most recent one just days ago. All of these have been caused by bullying. Our school says that bullying is bad but they haven't taken any action to help end it. If we had a bullying hotline, we could help others so much. A lot of us see bullying everyday and do nothing about it because we're so scared of being bullied. Most of us have personally been bullied. It's a scary thing to go through and it needs to stop. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens. With a bullying hotline, that many other schools use, people who are bullied can call or even text a number and would get help. People who see bullying can do the same. This way, there is less fear. The sad thing is, is that the school was offered this program and rejected it. If you want this hotline that could help save the lives of students in our school, please share and sign this petition. Thank you.

  • Kitchen/Lounge for West lodge and Sigma
Living in Sigma/West has its benefits, an own bathroom, a bigger room and space. But when it comes to dorm meetings and birthdays of friends we face the drawbacks. No lounge to meet in, no kitchen to bake the cake in. We too have the right for a "place to hang out" in!

  • Let our kids have a backyard batting cage!
I have a batting cage in my backyard where my three boys (ages 6, 7 and 10) play baseball. Now the City of Irvine is considering a proposal to outlaw backyard batting cages. Please help us tell the Irvine City Council that our kids should be allowed to play baseball in a batting cage in their backyard and sign our petition. I put the batting cage in our backyard after contacting my city planning department at City Hall in Irvine, California. I was told that there were no regulations regarding batting cages and no permit was necessary. I intentionally moved my family into this area because it is one of only three areas in Irvine that does not have a Home Owner's Association. The Municipal and Zoning code for our area also allows Accessory Building Structures that are larger than our batting cage's dimensions. Although the City of Irvine has several batting cages, none of them are open to the public. Irvine Citizens must pay money to join an organization like Little League in order to use them. Please tell the Irvine City Council that our kids should be allowed to play baseball in a batting cage in their backyard and sign our petition.

  • Citizens For The Core
As concerned citizens of and visitors to San Juan Island and Friday Harbor, we believe that placing the new Customs and Border Patrol offices with additional space and facilities required under the Dept. of Homeland Security in the downtown core would be a serious mistake. While we recognize the role of CBP in the continued safety of our island and country , we believe the corner of First and Spring St., the heart of Friday Harbor's downtown, is an inappropriate location for a government security facility. We are disappointed by the lack of transparency and public input into a decision which will affect the way our tax dollars are spent and alter the face of this small community through the coming decade. We want this move halted until a satisfactory impact study is provided and the public is engaged in the decision making process. This petition is intended to create additional support for this cause when presenting the issue at the upcoming community forum Mon. Nov. 25 , 2013 in Friday Harbor Wa. It is meant to encourage the online support of those who cannot attend and all who are in favor of taking these concerns to a higher level and being heard.
