Here in Colorado, our research has uncovered dozens of bills stemming from ALEC's model legislation. In the past few years, ALEC-manufactured bills to weaken Colorado's common sense gun laws, cripple public education, attack the rights of consumers, and limit access to voting have been repeatedly proposed--and unfortunately, some have become law. The exposure of ALEC’s unethical influence in state legislatures across America has led to scores of corporate sponsors and member legislators renouncing their ties to ALEC. In Colorado, it’s time for our elected officials to get the message: ALEC’s time is up.

I am writing because I feel our country has been held hostage for too long by the military-industrial complex and groups who want constant military escalation with other countries, to the detriment of our life and limb, economy and image. We need to project a softer and more cost-effective image of US power abroad.

The PAEA has caused post office and plant closures and reductions in service and employment. This stopped the longstanding practice of the USPS hiring large numbers of veterans to career jobs. Stop the slowing down of the mail to the American people and the closure of post offices and processing facilities nationwide.

These lunches must have a much healthier balance of fruits, veggies, grains and meats to teach children healthy dietary habits that will lead to a healthier lifestyle! There are many benefits to changing these meals such as bringing in fresh local and seasonally grown fruits and veggies will lower the amount of sugars and sodium that are packed into canned foods used by cafeterias and will also stimulate the local economy. Also, eating healthier meals will have an impact of student performance in school and will help them stay focused and energized.

Since entering political office, Republican Governor Mary Fallin has been the leading promoter for privatizing Oklahoma's state park resorts & recreational areas. On January 31, 2014, Aubrey McClendon's Pointe Vista Development plans to complete payments on their 2008 land deal for Lake Texoma State Park, without complying with their contract to build a hotel and convention center. I am a concerned neighbor and a parent, who strongly believes that CHL's purposes will cause harmful effects to our community. This is a volunteer program for addictive juveniles and as addicts they could leave at their leisure and may cause trouble to our community in order to satisfy their addiction.
