The federal government continues to throw money at oil companies that are making record profits. We need to bring down the debt and reign down on irresponsible oil companies that fail to invest in the future of energy.

I am a mother of two who takes great pride in food choices I make for her family. I deserve to know where the food I buy comes from and what it contains. I believe everyone does.

Our beautiful county is being targeted by the oil and gas industry for one of their hit and run incidents. Drill'em and Build'em! Loud, noisy drilling rigs can be placed in our fragile riparian areas. Drilling can threaten our drinking water. We are threatened with noisy 24/7 compression plants, pipelines through pastures and wetlands favored by hunters, wild lands, and river ways. We need clean healthy air to breath and clean, safe water to drink. We need to insure there will be no fracking to poison our water sources. Time to act is very short. Strong ordinances need to be in place before drilling begins.

I believe a a boy has every right to freedom if he has done nothing wrong but this state seems to want me here help me get 1000 signatures to gain my freedom. Most are probably wondering why I am in placement it because my mother was charged with child abuse and neglect charges because she smoked weed, which in my opinion is not a good reason to strip her kids of living there lives, They should have just put her in rehab

I like many Americans am growing increasingly, for lack of a better term "pissed of" with which the nature the elected officials of this nation have historically conducted themselves. Elected officials were put into office to be the voice of the people. Understanding there is a so-called democratic process, how could someone whom lacks the slightest idea of what my, and the rest of my social class' lives are like. Simple. it's impossible. Until we remove money and greed from capital hill we will never have an honest politician. There should be some sort of pay scale much like the military capped at whatever the average american makes during the term of their service. We have all said it, now its time to make it happen.

Seneca's Biomass Plant (repeatedly fined for violations) is now requesting a permit for major pollution level increases, purchasing unused 'pollution credits' from other plants, which will push it from a "minor" to "Major" source of pollutants under the Federal Clean Air Act. It's pollution controls for nitrogen oxides were "switched off" for seven months, and it seeks to increase hazardous emissions of hydrogen chloride, formaldehyde, acrolein, styrene, and carbon monoxide,' pumping 24/7 - (the latter alone 25,000 tons/week.) EPA says"'particulates' can aggravate asthma, bronchitis, lung disease, heart disease, and lead to premature death of health-sensitive people, including the very young and very old." The health of our children and elders should be top priority, and this permit and purchase of "pollution credits" should be stopped. How can the potential for "premature death" of our most vulnerable youth and elderly be either permissable or negotiable? We have only until November 22nd to respond.

It's not right for then to take my freedom over something I have not done, I am living my mothers punishment

I want to eat healthy food, and I want the Earth to remain a safe place to grow up in. GMOs are dangerous and should be banned.

Fracking requires tons of water to be mixed with toxic chemicals and pumped under ground at high pressure to crack the rock that naturally separates the gas from our water and air ways. The toxic waste water that doesn't remain in the ground must then be disposed of, and there is no good place to keep it. Farms and ranches in Pennsylvania and Ohio have been destroyed after fracking came to their land. Fracking is an energy intensive, invasive, unsafe way of harvesting fossil fuels that contribute to climate change. Frack wells release methane gas, a greenhouse gas more potent than carbon dioxide, into the atmosphere. We need better energy alternatives than this if we expect to leave a decent planet for our children. Keep fracked gas and fracking infrastructure out of Maine!

The risks of consuming food containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are still mostly unknown, but large food corporations have actively lobbied against labeling food containing GMOs. Texans should be given a choice about whether or not to purchase genetically modified food, so I support labeling all food that contains GMOs.

I have 3 grandsons who love to play vigorously outdoors--to play team sports, to swim and to run around the park playground. Whether they--and their children--will continue to enjoy the outdoors will be determined by whether or not oil companies exploit their current reserves. Climate experts tell us the planet will face catastrophic and irreversible temperature increases if we don't stop burning fossil fuels immediately. CalSTRS can pressure the fossil fuel industry to relinquish these future profits--and avoid financial calamity when this "carbon bubble" bursts--by divesting now. Investing instead in green energy companies will speed the day when alternative, sustainable energy replaces grossly overvalued oil.

We have a right to know what we're eating.
