My name is Tammy Kevwitch and I live in Livingston, Montana. I was diagnosed six years ago with bipolar disorder and post traumatic stress disorder. We have the right to know what we are eating so we can make wise, health conscious decisions about what we eat and put into our bodies. GMO's have been shown to cause a host of ailments in the bodies of both humans and animals including, but not limited to, GI issues and are not proven safe for consumption. Both my daughter and I have been affected personally by GMO's and have friends who have lost pregnancies because of GMO's. It's time we join 64 other world countries and label GMO's and understand they are not in the world's best interest.

One in three children now have a brain or psychiatric disorder. Psychiatric drug use in children has tripled in the last decade. Research suggests genetically-modified foods greatly interfere with critical brain nutrients such as magnesium. Animal research suggests major gastrointestinal inflammation is triggered, fertility is impaired, and tumors in offspring are concerns.

It's estimated that 70% of more of the foods in our grocery stores are or contain ingredients that are genetically modified. There is much controversy on the health effects of genetically modified foods. Packaged and canned foods currently are required to have ingredient and nutritional labeling. As a Social Worker in an outpatient Hematology-Oncology Clinic, I see numerous people without insurance, without prescription coverage, and who cannot afford their medications, some of which are life-saving.

GMO consumption is possibly linked to cancer, for one thing. Who doesn't have a family member who has been affected by cancer? Could GMOs have contributed? We can't even answer because we don't know if they are in our food or not.

I have not been affected by this personally, but know and love people who have survived rape. No woman who has been raped should be legally tied to her rapist. It is morally reprehensible.

Allegations of the effects of diet upon the lives of our children and family must be investigated. We cannot stand idly by and assume that our best interests are being met. We must be proactive in our own lives and for our future.

The development of this power line through Stony Point obviously will cause a great deal of turmoil and hardship. I am committed to raising as much awareness about this issue as possible so that the project can be stopped from running through our town.

We have far too much gun related violence in our country. We need to and can stop the needless accidental killings resulting from the display of "toy" weapons by children.
