• Rep. Chaffetz: Please Cosponsor the New House Immigration Bill
House Democrats have broken Speaker John Boehner's deadlock and introduced an immigration bill with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million without papers. So far, over 180 House Democrats have signed on as cosponsors! But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need Republican support. The good news is that it's there. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Jason Chaffetz, is one of the 29 House Republicans who support immigration reform with a path to citizenship. His support for this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes a part of the growing group of Republicans who have already cosponsored this bill, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. We know Rep. Chaffetz is ready to listen to you and our movement. In fact, Rep. Chaffetz said this past August that "there should be a pathway to citizenship, not a special pathway and not no pathway, but there has to be a legal lawful way to go through this process that works and right now it doesn’t.” But it's just not enough. We already have a good bill waiting in the House, and we just need to get Rep. Chaffetz to stand by his words and come to our side. He needs to join the more than 180 House members and cosponsor this new immigration bill! We need you and other advocates in your district to pressure Rep. Chaffetz into supporting this bill. If we get Rep. Chaffetz on board, your district could make all the difference for the millions without papers across the nation. The momentum is on our side because enough votes exist in the House to pass reform today. But instead Speaker Boehner hides behind excuses, delays, and flat-out refuses to give us a vote. We've come too far to stop now. Tell Rep. Chaffetz to stand up for his district by cosponsoring this new immigration bill in the House and passing the path to citizenship for the 11 million!

If he becomes a part of the growing group of Republicans who have already cosponsored this bill, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. We know Rep. Reed is ready to listen to you and our movement. We’ve already gotten him to change his mind about citizenship for DREAMers—he wasn’t willing to support it earlier this year, but he got on board this summer. Now we need him to extend that commitment to the rest of the 11 million undocumented immigrants. We already have a good bill waiting in the House, and we just need to get Rep. Reed to stand by all immigrants -- not just some. He needs to join the more than 180 House members and cosponsor this new immigration bill! • Addition of the Madison, SD Skate Park
It would be beneficial to children in Madison, SD, to expand and update the present skate park. The present skate park limits children's abilities due to space and quality. By updating the skate park we have the potential to motivate the local youth to get outside and be active. By expanding the skate park we can prevent youth skaters, skating on public property.

  • Don't put pastors on trial for performing gay weddings
In America's largest mainline protestant denomination, the United Methodist Church, pastors can be put on trial -- and even lose their ordination -- simply for marrying a gay or lesbian couple. But more than 30 Methodist pastors in Pennsylvania have just announced they'll do exactly that, courageously risking their careers by co-officiating at a gay wedding next month. Their fate will ultimately be in the hands of their local bishop, Peggy Johnson, who recently wrote that she favors marriage equality. Now she has an opportunity to send a powerful message by disregarding the church's immoral and discriminatory rules and refusing to pursue formal charges against these pastors.

  • Outdoor Patio Grilling
There is a great desire among the residents of the the Ritz Residence to be able to cook (grill) outdoors on our individual patios. We would also like to petition the Board for the construction of a large outdoor gas grill which can be used by the Ritz community at large. Our living experience at the Ritz would be greatly enhanced with the outdoor grilling capability.

  • Veteran Affair Unfair Education Benefits
I am a veteran who has been denied my education benefits. I have been in the military since 2004 and have served overseas. The Veterans Administration has denied me my hard worked education benefits due to their interpretation of the law. Even the representatives at the Veterans Administration have stated that my individual case is unfair and does not make sense, that i am being wrongfully denied. The Department of the Army, Human Resource Command has also stated that they feel like "i am being punished" because of a wrongful interpretation of the law. I am fighting to correct this unfair interpretation of the law. I have worked and fought for this country, under the impression that I would have benefits that are earned through serving the United States. I have put my education on hold to go overseas and fight. I know I am not the only Soldier that has been screwed out of education benefits. When they changed the education benefits back in 2009 and added the Post 9/11 any service member that used chapter 30 and continued to serve after that was denied or given a lower amount of months to use chapter 33 benefits which is the Post 9/11. The Veterans Administration purposely does not inform the Service Member what the best option is for using education benefits. Many Service Members have lost money and time for their schooling because the VA does not assist the member. they try to keep as much money as possible. The VA is not our friend. They do not care. I am asking for help in making this unfair action address and corrected. Military Service Members should have their education benefits corrected. We put our life on the line 24/7, to serve and protect this wonderful country. Please help me get all of our education benefits back.

  • Please don't run, Elliot Cutler
If Elliot Cutler runs for Governor, with Michaud and LePage on the ballot, there is a chance that LePage would win as he did in the last election for governor. The state of Maine cannot stand another 4 years of LePage. If Cutler drops out, Michaud would definitely win the election and be a great Governor for the state of Maine.

  • Freedom to Fly the American Flag
My name is Sarah Harvey and I live in the Wyatt at Presidio Junction. Three weeks ago I decided to display the American flag on behalf of my country and my husband who serves in the United States Marine Corps. After serving 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and 13 years years and counting it is the least I can do to show my love and support for all our brave soldiers. On October 28, 2013 I received a notice not only demanding the flag be taken down, but also fining me for having it up. I went to management and argued my case to no avail. I received the owner's email and have since emailed them with no response yet. So I am coming to you all for help. I followed the lease provisions involving not damaging the building or any structure on the property by zip tying the flag onto my railing. There is a clause regarding what should and shouldn't be on our patios. As it states on the lease clause only outdoor furniture is allowed. My stance is the American flag is an outdoor product and if, as management has stated to me, things like; plants, BBQ pits, bikes, and other typical outdoor products are allowed on the patio even though they are not considered outdoor furniture than the American flag should be allowed as well. The management team explained the reasons behind the denial of my American flag in terms that it could end up leading to someone claiming discrimination if someone else tried to fly another flag and they also tried to reference the "only patio furniture" statement but then agreed that they verbally agree to other items. I am coming to you, fellow residents, to get you all's approval and support so I can continue to fly my American flag in support and honor of our country and our soldiers. Please help me fight this injustice. I am asking nothing more than a signature to show management and the owners that no one is offended or against my family flying the American Flag. I also would like to point out that we all have a federal legal right, regardless what the company considers outdoor furniture. As per the Freedom to Fly the American Act of 2005 which was officially put into law July 24, 2006 section 3: SEC. 3. RIGHT TO DISPLAY THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES. A condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association may not adopt or enforce any policy, or enter into any agreement, that would restrict or prevent a member of the association from displaying the flag of the United States on residential property within the association with respect to which such member has a separate ownership interest or a right to exclusive possession or use. So I feel I am justified and supported in my right to fly the American flag, however I think everyone should have a right within our complex to fly the American flag without being hassled by the management team. I am not trying to cause any undue stress to anyone. So please help me keep my American flag up and allow others to have to ability to fly their American flags as well. Thanks for your support and have a wonderful day. Sarah Harvey

  • Speaker Boehner: Clear Our Path to Citizenship!
Congress has gone back to work, but they keep shutting down Immigration Reform with a Path to Citizenship for 11 million families. We are tired of waiting! Speaker Boehner, the House Republican Leader, is in the position to Clear the Path NOW by bringing immigration reform with a path to citizenship to a vote at the House of Representatives. There are enough votes and enough bills that include a much needed path to citizenship. The SAFE Act is not a path to citizenship, it is a path to deportations.

  • Florida sun pass,MDX
I have a sunpass which is set up to automatically withdraw funds from my account, I received a letter from MDX not knowing that Sunpass and MDX were two different entity, so I trashed the first bill I got for $1.30, after a couple of months I noticed I was still getting this MDX letter wherein the fee was now $165.00, just to note my husband had the same issue, he took it to court they only deducted $10.00 from the amount. This is a Hugh RipOff for the people of Florida. The SunPass is set up to rob the people of Florida. I personally took a visit to the court house I observed that 95% of the people there were having financial issues because of the Sunpass system here in Florida. HELP THE PEOPLE OF FLORIDA THE SUNPASS IS A ROBBERY SYSTEM

  • Don't Let Your Progressive Campaign Get Sabotaged by MoveOn’s Own Tools!
Aloha fellow MoveOn.org Members, At the time this petition arrives in your In-box you will probably know that Hawai'i has become the 15th state to pass Marriage Equality. You should know that the Honolulu Council became aware of 3 separate petitions created AGAINST Marriage Equality in the middle of our state's Special Session, USING OUR OWN TOOLS! Because it was church-supported, it enabled the Opposition to reach thousands via their pastors and todays's social media tools. See for yourself: http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/rep-chris-lee-is-not http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/support-religious-liberty http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/let-the-people-vote-and The chaos and damage these petitions helped to create will now remain forever a part of Hawaiian history. Let us all work together to help the next state achieve Marriage Equality.
