The Texas Drought Project recognizes that Texas is moving to a period of much greater aridity, with increasing desertification, and that Texas farmers, ranchers and residents will suffer as the oil and gas industry tries to drain Texas dry. We realize that this is not the answer to the problems with shale fracking, but it's a necessary first step.

Many states across America have pre-registration for young people. But others don't. In my home state of North Carolina, the opportunity for teen pre-registration was passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in 2009--and was enacted in 2010. But just three years later, pre-registration was taken away from us with the passage of a 56 page law that attacked voting rights in my home state. I’m determined to get this opportunity back by the time I turn 16 in four years--not just for myself, but for young people across America. The best way to make that happen is a federal pre-registration law for 16 and 17 year olds. But I can’t do this without the help of the current leaders in my government.

Fracking can not be done without destruction of the environment. We live in an active fault zone and class 2 water injection wells are known to cause earthquakes. No amount of money can fix the destruction wrought by the New Madrid Fault fracturing.

We are seeing an enormous number of attacks on a woman's fundamental freedoms across the country today. Anti-choice politicians are dictating ridiculous regulations about hallway width and grass length and parking spaces at abortion clinics with the goal of shutting them down. They interfere with doctors who know a lot better than they do. They force women to sit through mandatory ultrasounds and pointless waiting periods, as though women weren’t capable of making decisions on our own. They make us listen to lectures full of lies. But the fact is, the more roadblocks they put in front of safe abortion, the more they put women’s lives at risk. That’s why the Women’s Health Protection Act is so important. It puts a stop to pointless regulations and obstacles that keep women from getting the care they need and deserve – and it’s just the beginning. Call on your members of Congress to keep politicians out of our private decisions about pregnancy and health care and cosponsor this bill.

Attorney General Kathleen Kane is taking concrete steps to rein in a fracking company for their egregious illegal pollution. Earlier this fall, the Attorney General filed criminal charges against XTO Energy for releasing illegal fracking wastewater in northern Pennsylvania--more than 50,000 gallons laced with toxic chemicals. The pollution flowed over a local farmland and into a nearby pristine stream that feeds the Susquehanna River. In response, the drillers launched an all-out attack on the Attorney General in efforts to send a message to other elected officials who are willing to hold polluters accountable that they will be targeted. I'm proud of the Attorney General and she needs to know that Pennsylvanians support her actions and other elected officials who work to protect our health from fracking. Join me in standing with the Attorney General.

My mother's death was hasten by the draconian sanctions on Iran. She could not get her cancer medicine. Senator Mark Kirk likes to add on to the sanctions and have no problem with its effect on ordinary people. Please join me in writing or calling his office.

While going through a child support battle I found that state licenses aren't revoked or suspended until there are 90 consecutive days of non payment.As a result I am receiving minimal payment every 88 days. This loophole needs to be fixed. My children's father owns his own business and is taking full advantage of this 90 day rule. Where is the justice for the children?

We the people, cannot find jobs because all of the work has gone to China. All of the jobs are outsourced. We need to take a stand against the big companies in the USA who moved their jobs to China. We will show these big companies that we do not want unsafe, poorly made products that should be Made in the USA.

The Tacoma Hilltop is a high crime area and has been for years and yet the police station right in the middle of it is unmanned and serves as an expensive and high tech rest station. I ,personally, have had to wait for help after a brutal beating, literally, 1 block from this station. We need officers present and ready to assist as well as to be a deterrent by their mere presence.

I am starting this petition because it just not right that same sex couple are denied the right that everyone else has. I am personally affected by this because I cannot make myself love a man when it does not feel right. My mother always told me you can not help who you are in love with and we should not be punished because we love the same sex. I love my girlfriend and we have a wonderful four year old together and i would love the right to become her step mom and be a wife to my girlfriend.

I have spoken to multiple Dunkin Donuts store managers to ask them to stop using styrofoam. They state it is a corporate policy. Only the requests of many people can persuade Dunkin Donuts to change to paper.
