I am the mother of an autistic son who likes to wonder off. I have tried to get help from the waiver, paying for a device that would keep track of where my son is at in case he wonders, and would also alert me if he got a certain distance away for his own safety. It would also allow him to do small things somewhat independently without sacrificing his safety. Many autistic individuals go missing and are harmed needlessly.

A victim of bullying, and race and sex discrimination at Tustin High School was suspended for 5 days after attempting to protect himself from his attacker. The orange county district attorney subsequently filed battery charges against the victim not the attacker. What type of message is this sending to the victims of bullying and hate? PA Bill 1576 was proposed by Senator Pyle for easy land development. The bill allows the created Independent Regulatory Review Commission to "evaluate" Fish and Game's list of endangered species. By the bills order, the committee cannot protect any endangered species not already protected on the federal protected species list. This action removes most of PA's endangered species from protection.This committee is influenced by the gas and timber industries, thereby allowing companies to profit at the expense of our species and land. The hydraulic fracturing, drilling, and clear cutting following suite also presents major health concerns. To add species to the protected list will be near impossible because the new committee's process is designed to benefit profiteering.

There are more than 27 million individuals who are victims of human trafficking. It is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world. The business of Human Trafficking generates approximately 32 billion dollars a year in profits, second only to that of the international drug trade. Experts estimate that in America alone, there are over 100,000 children who are sexually exploited every year. Yet, law enforcement locates less than 2% of these children every year. If they are found, these children are often charged with crimes and treated as criminals. Perpetrators of this heinous crime prey on children with low self-esteem, which places many children at risk, and makes them vulnerable to becoming victims of sex and labor trafficking. The perpetrators of Human Trafficking abuse children physically, psychologically and emotionally through manipulation and force. We need to change our social perceptions, and see these children as helpless victims. Changing legislation will help change these perceptions, and provide the necessary support, and safe harbor that American children deserve.
