• Rep. Grimm: Please Cosponsor the New House Immigration Bill
House Democrats have broken Speaker John Boehner's deadlock and introduced an immigration bill with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million without papers. So far, over 180 House Democrats have signed on as cosponsors! But in order to get this bill past the finish line, we're going to need Republican support. The good news is that it's there. Your district's representative in the House, Congressman Michael Grimm, is one of the 28 House Republicans who support immigration reform. His support for this new bill could be the tipping point for our movement. If he becomes the first Republican to sign on, we know more of his colleagues in his party will build up the courage to follow. We know Rep. Grimm is ready to listen to you. In fact, Rep. Grimm has said in the past that "immigration is a huge issue that I know we need to fix, and we're getting close." But, “getting close” isn’t going to cut it. We already have a good bill waiting in the House, and we just need to get Rep. Grimm to stand by his words and come to our side. He needs to join the more than 180 House members and cosponsor this new immigration bill! We need you and other advocates in your district to pressure Rep. Grimm into supporting this bill. If we get Rep. Grimm on board, your district could make all the difference for the millions without papers across the nation. The momentum is on our side because enough votes exist in the House to pass reform today. But instead Speaker Boehner hides behind excuses, delays, and flat-out refuses to give us a vote. We've come too far to stop now. Tell Rep. Grimm to stand up for his district by cosponsoring this new immigration bill in the House and passing the path to citizenship for the 11 million!

  • Brown Family-Immigration
Mr. Dave Brown Sr. is being held without cause by the LaSalle Detention Center in Jena, Louisiana. The Deportation officers Mr. Perkins, Mr.Hartnet, Brian Firmin, and Ms. Lily have been plotting and doing everything with all their might to get Mr. Brown to sign himself over to be deported back home to England. Mr. Brown's mother just passed away this pass thursday November 17 at 12:15 a.m. A call was placed to the detention center early that morning but Mr.Brown was not notified until late that evening. Mr. Brown's family, Dr's of Mrs Elvina Brown (mother) as well as his Pastor, Bishop J.C White put in a request for Mr.Brown to be granted visitation before his mother passed away and then after so that he could attend his mother's funeral. After a few days we were notifified that our request was denied. We couldn't quite wrap our heads around the thought that anyone birthed by a woman themselves could be so heartless and cruel and not grant Mr.Brown a visit to see his mother meanwhile she was ill and now deceased. Shame on "immigration"!!!!!!!!! You have people within your system abusing their power and working against what we know we have a right to. We the family are asking for help to boycott and expose The Department of Deportation and LaSalle Detention Center and DEMAND that Mr.Dave Brown be released in time to attend his mother's funeral!!!!

  • Massachusetts Health Option - House Bill 1898
The Mehlmaur Bill - House Bill 1898 for Massachusetts - Now on Facebook @ Massachusetts Health Option, is unique; it will enable a person seeking holistic/naturopathic treatment to be covered comprehensively by health insurance. In New Hampshire a similar law was passed providing coverage for naturopathic treatment; however the patient has to pay a significant amount of out-of-pocket expenses for the prescribed treatments. What we would like to see in Massachusetts is more practical coverage. We say practical because only covering a portion of the naturopathic/holistic practitioners visit is just a first step towards proper treatment. These natural solutions have significant healing aspects and there is enough food science to support these claims. By only covering a portion of the office visit a patient is left facing the cost of their portion of the visit, their “health insurance” premiums, and the treatment prescribed which often requires supplements, organic fruits and vegetables, and “superfoods”. Since currently none of the natural treatments are covered by insurance, a patient faces the full cost of these therapies. An insurance company will spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on pharmaceuticals, surgeries, and other toxic therapies which only treat symptoms. Natural/holistic treatments heal the root cause, teach patients to care for their bodies, and create an overall lifestyle change which promotes the health of a patient for life thereby reducing the need for medicine, surgeries, and the typically “accepted” course of aging in America. The Mehlmauer Bill will give people a choice; a choice which is currently not available to those with a limited income. We believe Massachusetts should be the leader and set the example for an overhaul of the traditional treatment options available in our “modern” medical system. Instead of seeing healthcare as surgery, drugs, and procedures, let’s offer an alternative. We believe that the healing process starts with a choice. This bill will enable the patient to have more options, to have more control, to truly have choices in their medical care, their treatment plans, their healthcare options. Since we’ve been petitioning, an overwhelming majority of people have said they support this concept and love that it would give them a choice. Help us help our state; let us give the people an alternative view on medicine, on healthcare, on the healing process all together. Let’s give them a choice.

  • HACKENSACK DOG PARK
Every town in Bergen County has a dog park, but Hackensack does not have any designated area that our dogs can run and play safely. There are many dogs in our town and they help keep our streets safe. We think its time that Hackensack does something for these pets and their owners.

  • Mayor Newhard: Overrule the zoning in the village Warwick, NY
The zoning map in the village of Warwick currently has fitness centers zoned under Light industry. Fitness centers should be considered central business. Light industry is manufacturing. With the current zoning map a fitness center will not be successful as the allowed zones are on side roads and back roads. Break the cycle and allow for a fitness center in the village district on the main street.

  • People's Petition for Change 2014 - District SC-1
The current representative for district SC-1, Mark Sanford, has only contributed to Washington, D.C.'s obstructionism and the historic failures of the 113th Congress (and in such a short time). We, the people, are capable of moving past this era of impasses and uncertainty, and into a season of change for everyone in South Carolina. • Governor Parnell: Please Expand Medicaid
My son has a disease called Cystic Fibrosis. There is no cure but there are life extending treatments. Many of these are out of his reach because health insurance that would cover them is too expensive. He is one of the 40,000 working low income Alaskans who need the ACA Medicaid expansion so that they can access health care. The Alaskan economy depends on these hard working people in industries including fishing, tourism, retail and food service. All Alaskans, regardless of income, deserve equal access to health care without incurring back breaking debt or being a burden to the community. Health care is a right, not a privilege.

  • The Safe Haven Foundation, In Loving Memory of Eric Mabry, Jr
Gang violence have ravished our cities leaving behind many innocent victims in it's wrath. The most recent killing was a young man named Eric Mabry, Jr. who was shot brazenly in broad daylight on Mission & Brazil in San Francisco, CA October 9, 2013. Although he was gang affiliated his passing brought together over 40 young men and women who have fallen victim to the street life to become saved at his funeral. His death WAS NOT in VAIN. We wish to do God's work in the deliverance of our young people who have fallen victim to theses streets and give them a sense of belonging. Please help us to save our youth from the violence with love, peace, and hope. The Safe Haven Foundation, In Loving Memory of Eric Mabry, Jr was founded not just on his untimely death, but for the safety of the public. We want more mother's, father's, uncle's, cousin's and friends to stand up for what's right and take accountability for our youth that are going astray. On our journey for peace and unity we ask that you continue to pray with us daily for their salvation. Eric left behind a one-year-old son named Jeremiah, we wish to preserve his legacy free from gang violence. Amen Thank you for reading. • Stop Criminal Background Discrimination - Amend Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
Even though employer's are only supposed to consider the last seven years of one's criminal background report this is not what is happening. Potential employees are being screened out for jobs or in some cases offered a job only to be told that due to negative items on their criminal background report they cannot be hired. I believe an amendment can be made to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act to protect employment discrimination in regards to items on one's criminal background report over seven years old.

  • Don't Cut Social Security to Feed Lockheed's Profits
Members of Congress - including leading Democrats - are talking about a budget deal that would cut Social Security and Medicare benefits while protecting the Pentagon budget from planned cuts. Sen. Dick Durbin, the second most powerful Democrat in the Senate, recently told Fox News Sunday he would support cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits as part of a "grand bargain" with Republicans. On CBS's Face the Nation, Sen. Mark Warner - one of the Democrats picked to negotiate with Paul Ryan on the budget - said: "We all know at the end of the day...Democrats are going to have to give on entitlement reform." The "grand bargain" these Democrats are talking about would cut Social Security and Medicare benefits to pay for bloated Pentagon spending, like Lockheed Martin's boondoggle $1.5 trillion F-35 warplane. $1.5 trillion represents more money than the entire savings over the next ten years from all current plans to cut federal discretionary spending - both Pentagon spending and domestic spending. And that's just one unneeded weapons system. Over the last several months, the Washington Post and other media have reported on the extraordinary perks that the Pentagon makes available to senior military commanders at taxpayer expense. These include paid military personnel and DOD civilians to cut grass, chauffeur, schedule events, and to perform other personal aide duties. They also include extraordinarily lavish housing and entitlement to tender and/or accept offers for post-retirement employment with Pentagon contractors and lobbying and investment firms, even if those firms handle the very same issues that the senior officer oversaw at taxpayers' expense. Asking citizens to watch their federally funded benefits shrink so we can pay for these personal perks for generals and admirals is not only offensive but also drives a deeper wedge between civilian society and uniformed military leadership. Tell Congress and the President not to cut our earned Social Security and Medicare benefits in order to protect the obscene profits of Lockheed Martin and the lavish lifestyles of the pampered generals.
