We know by now the GOP loves to stall. They continue to keep the government shut, separate immigrant families, and hold our economy hostage for their own political gain – and companies like Home Depot continue to line the pockets of these same Republican leaders. Last year alone, Home Depot PAC gave more than 1.2 million dollars to GOP extremists. Frank Blake and his corporate PAC continue to fund John Boehner, Eric Cantor and GOP leadership while our families suffer. Tell Home Depot PAC to STOP bankrolling elected officials who refuse to lead. It’s time that Home Depot stop assisting the GOP in political pandering while taking advantage of families.

This bill is important because it will not allow employers to limit wage rates based on sex. Employers will only be able to decide wage rates based on education, training, and experience. This bill will also prohibit employer retaliation to employee complaints, meaning, an employer will not be able to make wage cuts to an employee because of another employee complaint. This is an important bill for woman's rights and if passed will greatly impact the future of woman in the workplace.

Valencia County has an unparalleled historical, cultural and natural resource in its 125 square miles of rangeland. We owe it to future generations to fully consider what this resource means to the County and plan for its future development accordingly. Saying "yes" to individual unplanned development schemes will foreclose this opportunity forever.

At 10:34 everyday the FCDS upper and middle school are given an insufficient amount of food. As time moves on, our snacks have been down-graded to "100 calorie" or "whole grain" when in the past we had been given regular snack size packs. We the student body are petitioning for better snacks to give us more fuel throughout the day and to give us energy. Snacks with more protein and bigger snacks will help us to grow and in turn, learn. We also have been turned down being able to have yogurt at snack and there is fruit maybe 1-2 times a week and it is usually very small and unflavorful. Thank you.

Counties such as Bibb, Houston, Jones, Monroe and Twiggs are in need of educational options that expose students to STEM curriculum while promoting artistic expression. Students gain exposure to technology through blended learning and use of iPads. This is the arts school of the future and it's coming to the heart of Georgia first!

On Nov. 1, if the ongoing budget battle isn't resolved, the Department of Veterans Affairs won’t be able to send out benefits checks to nearly 5.2 million veterans and family members. As a fully Disabled Veterans I know first hand what a nightmare this is to live in the fear and uncertainty. Can I pay my mortgage? Buy food? Get Medical Care? Refill my Prescriptions? MY BROTHER CHARLES TRICE WAS MURDERED 2/25/12 BY SOMEONE WITH AN ILLEGAL GUN IN A ROBBERY ATTEMPT. I AM ASSOCIATED WITH MANY OTHERS WHO HAS LOST LOVED ONES DUE TO VIOLENCE, IT HAS TO STOP SOON.

Having a recycling symbol on all recyclable bags and plastics will help reduce the accumulating trash. If an item is not recyclable it should be marked so that people are aware that it will become part of the landfills. This would encourage companies to find recyclable solutions to their packaging.

Students living in Northside are at risk of being kicked out of the student district. Despite currently in District 7, the Berkeley Student District Campaign map draws them out, leaving Northside students out of the new student district. The United Student District Amendment provides the best solution for creating an inclusive student district by uniting Northside and Southside. This includes a majority of dorms, Coops, and Greek housing, bringing the student age population of District 7 to 90.3%.

Once it became public that my son was gay; the manager made his life a living hell. Before that time, he was advanced to pricing lead for the store. After becoming public, he was belittled in front of co-workers and the public; and was coerced into signing early release papers after giving a 3 weeks notice of leaving. I respectively request other members to abstain from shopping at this establishment.

I believe this shutdown (plus any future occurrences) would have been settled much sooner, and probably never would have occurred if the House, Congress & the President were to not receive their paychecks during any Government shutdown.
