  • Impeach Congress
The people of the United States of America are being harmed by the actions of the Congress of The United States. Services that citizens rely on for their health and well being are being closed and denied and cut by the very representatives elected to assure the health and well being of the citizens of the United States of America.

  • Create American Jobs by Closing Tax Loopholes
The purpose of this petition is to create American Jobs encourage advocacy sufficient resulting in a tax system that is fair, transparent and equal to society's views on appropriately balanced income and wealth distribution. The corporate share of federal revenue has declined by more than 60% over the last 50 years --- plummeting from 22% to 8%. Over the decade corporations have spent billions to get favored treatment as evidence documents corporations have been benefited with a return of more than 2,000% on their investment. Corporations do not pay their fair share of federal taxes yet promote a pro-growth strategy of austerity for American citizens and prosperity for themselves using the tax code as their “profit center” to boost corporate profits. Lawmakers substantially grant favors to corporations at the behest of corporate lobbyist consistently, to the detriment of ordinary citizens. This has accelerated the wealth gap according to representative studies showing in 2009 white families’ median income was $113,149 for Latino families their median income was $6,325 for and black families median income was $5,677. Worst, today more than 22 million Americans are unemployed. As a solution to closing the wealth gap and recognizing that: ➢ All global wealth passes through tax havens, and ➢ One-third of all wealth resides in cross-border tax havens This petition hereby demands the following: 1. Congress establish a United States based tax haven thereby creating a new economy, whose primary objective is to serve corporations as the authorized American tax haven. This tax haven will require benefiting corporations to accurately report all taxes paid in all countries regardless of where the income was generated, and to respect and adhere to a social contract between governments and citizens in promoting a tax system that eliminates wealth inequality. 2. Congress terminates all corporate tax credits for moving jobs off shore and outsourcing of services offshore. We demand that Congress: * Provide incentives for companies that hire Americans to work onshore * Offer incentives for corporations that give vendor opportunities to Americans * Provide a special tax incentive to corporations that establish a closely aligned relationship to colleges and universities developing curriculums to fill their labor needs over at least a 5-year or more period of time 3. Passes legislation prior to February 2014 ---exceeding the basic Action Plan released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and endorsed by the G20, the world’s premier forum of Leaders representing economies creating more than 80 percent of global GDP--- agreeing to crack down on corporate tax evasion. 4. Require the Tax Reform Coalitions, all corporations, or their designated representatives, now to enter into an agreement with those representing the best interests of the 99% to jointly present to Congress preferred legislation that advances the G-20 Action Plan on cracking down on corporate tax evasion, avoidance and manipulation not later than January 15, 2014, adhering to the established schedule of the OEDC. 5. Put forth the strongest possible effort to conduct investigations, make business analyses, formalize business plans and hold hearings exercising all options to expeditiously complete the authorization of a United States tax haven. Simultaneously, companies with offshore funds, estimated now at $2 trillion, will be required to invest here in the United States tax haven or will be denied tax credits offshore and moreover denied a presence in the United States tax haven. We urge The United States Congress to give these five demands urgent attention and immediate implementation.

  • Tell Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) To Vote Yes to Protect LGBT Americans from Workplace Discrimination
After the shutdown, the U.S. Senate will take a vote on the LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) for the first time in 17 years, and this commonsense proposal already has 55 Senate supporters and counting. ENDA simply says a corporation can’t fire you just because of who you are or who you love. But Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas is still waffling. He’s 1 of only 3 hold-out Democrats who has not made up his mind. We think 100% of Democrats should support basic fairness for LGBT Americans. Arkansans understand that Americans should be judged on the job based on their skills and hard work, rather than their sexual orientation or gender identity. In a new study released this September, 61 percent of Arkansans support a federal law protecting LGBT Americans from workplace harassment and discrimination. Nationwide, so do more than 81 percent of Democratic voters, a majority of Republican voters, 61 percent of senior citizens, and 72 percent of Latinos. Wal-Mart, the state’s largest employer, has protected gay and lesbian workers from discrimination for nearly 10 years, and they adopted workplace protections for transgender employees two years ago. The company also recently added domestic partner benefits for gay and lesbian couples. If Wal-Mart can finally take steps to make the workplace more fair for LGBT employees, so should the Democratic Senator from Arkansas. Sen. Pryor - You should follow the lead of top business leaders in Arkansas and throughout America who have decided to protect their LGBT employees from workplace harassment because it’s the right thing to do, and also the best thing for business. There’s no reason for any Senator to keep stalling on workplace fairness. Now is time to announce your support and publicly pledge to vote Yes for the LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

  • Recycling at Five Guys Fast Food Restaurant
Almost all of the packaging used at Five Guys is paper; paper bags, paper french fry containers, paper napkins, etc.; but all of it is just thrown away. If the option to recycle was introduced into the Five Guys restaurants, paper waste could be almost completely abolished. This would not only save considerable landfill space, but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Tell Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) To Vote Yes to Protect LGBT Americans from Workplace Harassment and ...
The U.S. Senate will soon take a vote on the LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) for the first time in 17 years, and this commonsense proposal already has 58 Senate supporters and counting. ENDA simply says a corporation can’t fire you just because of who you are or who you love. But West Virginia’s Senator Joe Manchin is still waffling. He’s the last remaining hold-out Democrat who has not made up his mind. We think 100% of Democrats should support basic fairness for LGBT Americans. West Virginians understand that Americans should be judged on the job based on their skills and hard work, rather than their sexual orientation or gender identity. In a new poll released this fall, more than 60 percent of West Virginians support a federal law to protect LGBT Americans from workplace harassment and discrimination. Nationwide, so do more than 81 percent of Democratic voters, a majority of Republican voters, and 61 percent of senior citizens. Sen. Manchin - You are a recognized leader in the Senate, and the Democratic Party of West Virginia platform says that the Party should be leading the fight against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. There’s no reason to keep stalling on workplace fairness. Now is time to announce your support and publicly pledge to vote Yes for the LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act.

  • Tell Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) To Vote Yes to Protect LGBT Americans from Workplace Harassment and ...
After the shutdown, the U.S. Senate will take a vote on the LGBT Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) for the first time in 17 years, and this commonsense proposal already has 55 Senate supporters and counting. • Commutation for Colin M. Grady
Colin Grady has been incarcerated since February 2009 and is not set for release until May 2015. While incarcerated he has made great use of this time. He has graduated from college with a 2 year degree and is currently continuing with his education today, he has held several jobs, been an outstanding inmate, immersed himself in all the available self help programs that are offered, and graduated from a parenting course, (he did this course to make sure that he had all the appropriate skills to be the best Uncle he could to his Nephews and future children) We as his family, friends and community are ready to have him home. We feel that the time he has served is adequate punishment for the laws broken. The 26 year old man he is today is drastically different than the 19 year old boy he was in 2007. We are in full support of his early release.

  • Stop the shutdown, fund the government and pay our bills.
It is outrageous that GOP Members of Congress are willing to destroy our economy to appease their Tea Party members. It's time to tell them to "Cease and Desist." We have had enough of GOP Members of Congress “talking the talk.” Now they need to show real leadership and “walk the walk” by: •Signing the Discharge Petition. With 218 signatures, a vote on a clean CR will be brought to a vote on the Floor of the House of Representatives; •Raising the Debt Ceiling without any conditions. Congress created this debt, now they need to pay the bills; •Telling Speaker Boehner to ‘Cease and Desist’ from his extremist actions that are ruining our country.

  • Keep Felipe Bravo together with his family
My name is Felipe Bravo and I am from Guatemala. I have lived in the United States for the past 15 years. I am married and have 3 U.S. citizen daughters (Karina 13yr, Jennifer 12yr, Azucena 6yr). I was arrested for not having a driver's license. Although all charges have been dropped and I do not have any criminal record, I am still facing possible deportation. I now have to leave my family on November 15. I pay my taxes and have strong ties to my community. Since arriving here, I have been an active member in my church, where I am the choir director. As a member of Familias Unidas, I have been working to help other families that are facing the same situation as my own, keep their families together. My dream is to stay here and see my beautiful daughters grow up and realize their dreams. I would like to continue contributing to this country that has given me so many opportunities. With your help, I hope to cancel my deportation, so that I can stay with my family. Thank you for your support and my God bless you.

  • Rep. Rodney Davis: End the Shutdown!
On Tuesday, October 15 at noon, constituents are going to visit Representative Rodney Davis at his district offices in Illinois' 13th Congressional District. We're going to call on him to support and vote for clean bills to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling to avoid default on the nation's debts, without tying these to efforts to defund the Affordable Care Act or demands to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits. We'll call on Rep. Davis to sign the discharge petition to force a clean bill to reopen the government to the House floor for a vote. Illinois' 13th Congressional district stretches from Champaign in the east to Madison County in the west. Davis' district offices are in Champaign, Normal, Decatur, and Taylorville.
