• Lunch Break for Pharmacy staff
I am a Pharmacist for a major pharmacy retail chain and on most days pharmacist work diligently to serve patients without something as basic as lunch. It's inhumane and can be a hazard to the public, our job requires us to multi-task and make clinical judgments in a matter of seconds. These decisions and judgments should be made under the best circumstances.

  • Oppose Brazos Energy's Plans To Build New Transmission Lines in Frisco, Texas
I live in Westfalls Village and am among the 19,700 current residents (and estimated 34,700 at build-out) who will be adversely impacted by this project. As proposed, the construction of these above-ground, high-tension transmission lines will have a devastating impact on our collective property values and quality of life.

  • Avoid World War 3 in Syria
I would hate for a war to start because of an eagerness to be world police when we should be handing that power to the UN, as it is supposed to be. We can provide assistance to the UN, but action is not worth starting a chain of events like the ones that led to the last two world wars. We should rebuild America before creating or entangling ourselves in more conflicts.

  • Women Get The Right To Vote Day
Beginning in the mid-19th century, several generations of woman suffrage supporters lectured, wrote, marched, lobbied, and practiced civil disobedience to achieve what many Americans considered a radical change of the Constitution. Few early supporters lived to see final victory in 1920. Slavery was abolished, Martin Luther King Jr and Winston Churchill are recognized on the calendar.. but women are still not recognized for their tireless efforts to gain the right to vote in America.

  • Representative Ruiz, Bring Back Senate Immigration Reform!
Dr. Raul Ruiz, Congressman for California's 36th District, could be a poster child for what the American Dream looks like. The child of Coachella valley migrant farm workers, he was the first Hispanic to earn three graduate degrees from Harvard University, a doctor and a medical academic before being elected to Congress in 2012. While Dr. Ruiz stands out for his achievements, many Americans have similar stories. Our parents, grandparents or great grandparents, many of them immigrants, farmed or worked in factories, laboring at difficult and often low paying jobs that no one else was willing to take in order to raise their families and give them opportunities they themselves never had. Many immigrants in this country want the chance to work hard, earn an honest wage, take care of their families and become citizens, so that their children can earn the opportunities that we have had. But currently we have no path for undocumented immigrants to make things right legally, even those who have grown up in this country and lived most of their lives as Americans. Meanwhile, this broken system means that those who don't play by the rules are rewarded, putting our communities are at risk, as those desperate to make a better life for their family are preyed on by drug smugglers, coyotes and criminals who pose a threat to our Southwestern borders. This summer, it looked like Congress might finally pass legislation that would solve many of our country’s immigration woes in keeping with the views and values of majority of Americans. The immigration reform bill passed in the Senate this June includes a pathway for undocumented immigrants to work hard and earn citizenship while increasing safety for our communities by strengthening border security. But House Republicans, led by John Boehner prevented the Senate legislation from ever reaching the House Floor, preventing members of Congress from ever having a chance to vote it into law. The good news is that we live in a Democracy with a lawmaking process that has checks and balances to protect the American People from grandstanding by a handful of legislators. By using a process called a discharge petition, members of the House of Representatives can gain support from their colleagues to force the legislation to the House floor for a vote. Unfortunately, while many House Democrats have voiced support for signing such a discharge petition, none have yet shown the leadership to actually introduce it. We need one brave soul to take the lead. As an advocate for Comprehensive Immigration reform and a proven leader who has committed to reaching across the aisle for bipartisan solutions, Dr. Ruiz would be an ideal champion for bringing the Senate Immigration bill back to the House Floor. That's why we have created this petition, urging Rep. Raul Ruiz to introduce a discharge petition to the House of Representatives.

  • Support Climate Science in Nevada Schools!
The Nevada State Board of Education is poised to decide the future of science education for all Nevada Students. Nevada could join states around the country in adopting New Generation Science Standards (NGSS), an updated and comprehensive set of science education standards developed by 26 states, including Nevada. These standards will ensure students receive an up-to-date science education, including learning about climate science. At a time when kids in Carson City, Reno and beyond are suffering from breathing smoke from the enormous Yosemite-area Rim Fire — the kind of fire becoming far more common with climate change — it’s more important than ever for Nevada students to gain a strong understanding of the causes and impacts of climate change. This will give them the foundation they need to identify climate solutions. Let’s send the Board a strong message that our kids deserve a 21st century science education to help them address the challenges and opportunities they will face. Climate change will have a huge impact on our children’s future, and we need to let the Board of Education know Nevada parents, grandparents and science supporters want our kids to learn the facts. You'll help us send that message by signing the petition in support of the new science standards. If we act today, our children and grandchildren will thank us tomorrow!

A separate feedback option and a Listing History is urgently required on Trade Me, to help expose Animal Cruelty, money hungry Backyard Breeders and Pet Flippers. After running a Poll it was a clear indication that people wanted this change to happen. 99% for vs. 1% against which justifies a petition! *Please Like us on facebook - SPCA Watch (NZ)

  • Stop Stalling State Supreme Court
Teachers state-wide are struggling financially as a result of education funding cuts despite surpluses in the school aid fund in the hundereds of millions of dollars. All state employees had a 3% tax to pay for retirement healthcare imposed on them in 2010, which was refunded to everyone except public school employees. Many teachers from districts such as Buena Vista, Ypsilanti, Willow Run, and Inkster are now without jobs and need this refund to help pay for basic living expenses. The state appeals court ruled almost one year ago that imposing this tax was unconstitutional. The state supreme court needs to make this hearing case a priority and refund and our money.
