WHEREAS the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement ( hereinafter referred to as TPP) is being negotiated in secret as a “trade agreement” while 24 of the 26 chapters are about new enforceable corporate rights and privileges and restraints on government regulations on drug patent monopolies affecting the price of HIV/AIDS drugs among others, on the offshoring of jobs, on the preservation of natural resources, and on financial services, land use, food safety, energy, tobacco and threats to internet freedom; AND WHEREAS these new rules will be enforced through trade sanctions enforced by corporate –appointed tribunals which will have the power to sue the US government and other governments for compensation for losses caused by enforcement of financial, health, environmental, land use and other laws which they deem to have caused them financial loss; AND WHEREAS after Obama’s election US trade officials were instructed to withdraw from the TPP negotiations launched by President Bush and instead to sort out a new approach to trade which would fix the NAFTA model and prevent the corporate control of international trade of which TPP is an extreme example;

This Petition is about Saving Edward Snowdens' life. It is known that although President Obama has stated that whistleblowers should be protected, actions by the US government have proven otherwise. It is known that Eva Morales airplane was forced to land and searched. It is also known that recently reporter Michael Hastings died in a suspicious car crash. The US government has many high tech weapons developed that could cause the crash of a plane, as well as the technology to remote control aircraft. Americans do not trust their government or "elected" officials or the actions which they have taken.

The City of Arvada plans to give away land valued at over $1.1 million for only $10. In return, the City allowed the developer of a large, rental apartment building to receive an additional $1,000,000+ in tax incentives and other financial benefits. To enable this building, the historic Masonic Lodge will be demolished. The City is violating its own design guidelines for Olde Town, requesting waivers on 30 counts, including: limiting buildings in Olde Town to two stories, incorporating building design that complements the architecture of Olde Town, and minimizing the impact on historic McIlvoy Park. I teach at City College of San Francisco, the best school I've ever taught at. The ACCJC, the accreditation commission, has fatally and unjustly revoked our college's accreditation (to take effect in July, 2014) for reasons that are politically and ideologically motivated. This outrageous attack on City College of San Francisco - one of the largest and best in the country - is an attack on all public education.

Right-Wing legislatures around the country are turning back the clock on women's rights by restricting access to birth control and necessary medical procedures, including abortion. Gov. Haley must show where she stands on women's rights by making it clear that she will not infringe on these rights for all women across our great state.

Many Virginia state residents are affected by drivers that get away with causing accidents merely because a lawyer can prove there MAY have been a fraction of a percentage of fault on the victim. This happened to me when I was rear ended while riding a motorcycle. An inattentive driver hit me from behind and because I wasn't going fast enough even though the truck was speeding, I get nothing more than $15,000 in medical bills, a loss of my mode of transportation, and unpaid time off work. Let's stop this from happening to others and make sure those causing accidents are held accountable. It's time to remove a law that only 3 states have been holding on to and move into a day and age that holds people accountable for paying attention to the machinery they operate. Time to make our roads a safer place or make those that don't want to be safe pay for their negligence.

Senate Bill 1 is designed to tell women what is right for them to do with their own bodies. Women are very capable. No man can tell a woman how to take care of her pregnancy and her health. The bill assumes women are not only monsters, but willing murderers of the fetus in her body. The bill penalizes women - especially the poor - by keeping them from getting the healthcare they need. Stop this bill, because it is wrong for all women. It will cause the unnecessary deaths of women in Texas. Allow public hearings on Senate Bill 1 before voting.

I have held public office several times in my life. Now as a retired small business owner, I can be overwhelmed by big money with no disclosure coming into my Tier 1 community and "buying the media". Complete transparency and full disclosure of all monies and resources to a person and/or political party every 30 days should become normative.
