Marriage Equality in Ohio“At some point in our lifetime, gay marriage won't be an issue, and everyone who stood against this civil right will look as outdated as George Wallace standing on the school steps keeping James Hood from entering the University of Alabama because he was black.” ― George Clooney2,776 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Lucy Villafan

Stop Senate bill S1046Senator Brian Schatz (Hawaii-D) has introduced Senate bill S1046 to committee for a American Indian Veteran Soldier statue placed at the National Museum of the American Indian. We have traveled the country speaking to American Indian Soldiers and they do not want a statue at the museum, they want to be honored on the National Mall near the "Three Soldier Statue"89 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cydney Webster

Oppose HB930This bill is designed by the Humane Society of the United States, not your locate Humane Society. The ultimate goal of this organization is to end animal ownership, right down to the steak on your dinner plate. They are currently targeting Responsible Pure Bred Dog Breeders and The American Kennel Club whose main office is in Raleigh, NC. They are also targeting humane surgical procedures, specific dog breeds, the number of companion dogs people can own (3-4 in counties in the Charlotte area) and more. Ann McCrory, wife of NC Governor Pat McCrory, has found new friends among HSUS and has taken up their cause to regulate dog breeders. Mrs. McCrory lobbied the NC House and helped push the Dog Breeding Standards bill through with the speed of lightening. Mrs. McCrory - we do not need you lobbying against us. Working in any way for HSUS is shameful. HSUS only has one agenda and that is to remove animals from our lives.76 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shauna Dasnoit

Wendy's: Go Green and Recycle!Too many fast food restaurants use and dispose of plastic containers without regard to the environment. Despite Wendy's meager attempts at recycling, there are no options in the restaurant for recycling containers that have barely been touched by food. We end up taking the containers home to clean, reuse, and recycle. But most consumers throw them away on site. All it takes is a green box!75 of 100 SignaturesCreated by william anderson

Return Our Inalienable Rights! Stop Unwarranted NSA Domestic Eavesdropping!Whereas our U. S. Supreme Court in Katz v. U.S. (1967) held that warrant-less electronic surveillance is unconstitutional because it violates an individual's right to be protected from unreasonable searches and seizures; and, Whereas the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA), operating in secret, authorizes the scrutiny of more Americans than foreigners; and, Whereas the evidence presented to that court presently lacks any real challenge; and, Whereas only a handful of FISA warrant requests have ever been turned down; and, Whereas most federal judges are predisposed to defer to executive claims of national security; and, Whereas these judges are generalists with little experience in evaluating intelligence; and, Whereas these same judges are reluctant to hamper government operatives sworn to defend the nation; and, Whereas the same reluctance is evident among members of Congress who pose as watchdogs but melt when they hear appeals to patriotism from the managers of the intelligence services; and, Whereas the data hauling by our government's intelligence services has gone on for years without real challenge or even question; and, Whereas much of this government snooping is farmed out to profit-seeking corporations that have great appetites for government contracts, secured through executives who enrich themselves by shuttling between agency jobs and the contractors' board rooms; and, Whereas it is widely reported that an estimated 483,000 contractor-employees now hold U.S. Top-Secret Security clearances for this work and such a large number is clearly a security risk in itself violating ‘Need-To-Know” best practices; and, Whereas such a radical challenge to our freedoms demands serious and skeptical oversight: We Now, therefore submit the above petition.173 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ed Porter

Politicians Living by NC StandardsNC politicians, both parties, pass laws and bills that affect every citizen of this state. We expect them to live by those as well to save monies for the state of NC. President Obama, Senators and Representatives: Make October 5, 2013 "Ostomy Awareness Day"I would like to request that a resolution is passed to announce October 5, 2013 as "Ostomy Awareness Day". As an ostomy patient, it is vital that we build greater awareness about these life saving conditions. This day will not only allow us to raise awareness in the general public, but reach those individuals who seem lost following surgery.76 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Douglas Yakich

Tell David Dewhurst to stand with Texas women! It is important that women all across the great (geographically large) state of Texas have fair access to health care, as determined by their doctor and their own personal preference. It is not fair to restrict clinics and providers when the majority of cases require immediate and local solutions to issues that are difficult enough for women to decide. Politicians should not be involved in reproductive decisions and attempts of Texas Republicans to restrict access to health care to the large majority of Texas women is wrong and improper. Please stand with us in keeping medical decisions between a woman and her doctor.5,374 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Jennifer E

New Voter Tools for Truer RepresentationOne of the ways we voters have been kept in a democracy of limited effectiveness, is by keeping us blind to the true amount of public support towards any given issue. The first thing we need to do is find a way to remove the blindfold and make our government representatives and agencies face a public that can see issues in which the public vision is widely shared and when the public’s shared vision is or is not being represented. Polls are not good enough. Accuracy of polls can be questioned for many reasons. We need more than polling. We need a public way of submitting registered issue votes to the government and its agencies. Something that is much better than individuals calling, writing, and even meeting with representatives and public officials.156 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Barbara Stafford

Tell Rep. Mike Conaway to make a public statement against anti-woman policiesRight-wing legislatures around the country are turning back the clock on women's rights by restricting access to birth control and necessary medical procedures, including abortion. Rep. Conaway must show where he stands by making it absolutely clear that he will NOT support limits on women's freedoms!207 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Dr. Jeff Kapp
