End Microsoft MonopolyA software monopoly is extremely dangerous in a world controlled by computers (government, military, voting, business, personal records). Stifling competition reduces innovation, job creation, price lowering, all hurting the economy. They're so powerful that, for more than a decade, the US and UK have failed to break them up or fine enough to affect them. They're rude, retaliatory, and capricious in business practices.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Fred

Ban Fracking in CaliforniaFracking is a harmful practice with long-term problems. Drilling for more oil and natural gas does not change our dependence on fossil fuels. Mankind is changing the climate and now is a time to stop the damage by saying no to fracking.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Jurkovic

Don't weaken Connecticut's paid sick days!Last year, Connecticut became the first state in the country to give workers earned paid sick time off, so they didn't have to choose between their health and their job. But now, corporate interests and big business lobbyists are trying to take away the days workers have earned to go to the doctor, or take care of a sick family member. Masquerading as 'technical fixes' to the paid sick days law, a bill in the General Assembly would actually exclude more workers from the paid sick days law, allow companies to skirt the law by temporarily reducing their staff, and make workers use more time off than they need, forcing them to use up their earned time. We should not allow our historic paid sick days law to be eroded. Tell your state representatives to oppose SB 1107!107 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Taylor Leake

Baltimore City Water BillThe water bill in Baltimore city is outrageously high at this time; It is scheduled to increase up to $90.00 per household. In the past I have paid as much as $ 1,500.00 for a water bill. After changing plumbing from the street to my home and the city changing the water meter, my bill still is $300+./ per billing. The water is not fit to drink therefore City residents are forced to buy bottled water. A delinquent water bill could cause one to loose their home. City Gov. Please fix this problem.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Betty Merritt

PROTECT OUR YOUTH FROM THE PRISON $ MACHINEThe privatization of prisons is like Pac-Man for our youth. The governors of the states are entering into agreements with private corporations like GEO, CCA, and MTC, guaranteeing prison bed capacity payments with our tax dollars while their stockholders profit. If the beds are empty then there is the impetus, the motivation to fill them - waste not, want not! So the threshold is lowered ed on crimes and ages, and the problem for private graft is solved! Hold your Governors, District Attorneys, County Supervidors, Wardens and Police accountable. Make the Attorney General and171 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jami Bolden

Georgia-Worst State for HomeonwersI like many others continue to be impacted by the Georgia foreclosure crisis. In Georgia, lenders can quickly move to foreclose on a home without the benefit of due process. In a recent Georgia Supreme Court decision, You v. JP Morgan Chase, the court failed miserably in responding sensibly to the grave consequences of foreclosures.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by La Vonda

Hawaii County: Let Farmers & Ranchers choose their tools!Act 79 is at its second hearing before the Hawaii County Council threaten agriculture on Hawaii Island and their right to choose. One rancher requested the bill be killed, saying it threatens the “well-being” of farmers and ranchers. “Frankly, I’m sick and tired of having to defend my life’s work,” he said. He is not alone....Let farmers and ranchers choose! If farmers & ranchers are going to survive, we need access to the most modern techniques and technologies. This Act would cut off our ability to use modified crops that are resistant to disease, if needed. It would mean foregoing potential help, like the Genetic modification that saved the papaya industry in Hawai‘i; without the Rainbow papaya, we would no longer have a papaya industry at all. This feeling is increasingly being discussed at dinner tables in the farming community. They are asking themselves, “Is it worth it" to continue farming? What will happen when our farmers get out of the business? They grow the food you eat....263 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Academia & Agriculture
