Pass the Puppy Uniform Protection and Safety Act (PUPS Act)PUPS is important in order to make sure that all breeders of dogs have to be licensed with the USDA and comply with standards set forth by the Animal Welfare Act. Currently, the Animal Welfare Act and the USDA only inspect commercial breeders who sell their puppies to a wholesaler, for example a pet store. With the passage of PUPS, breeders who sell their dogs remotely, to the public through the Internet, newspaper and telephone will have to become licensed under the USDA and follow humane standards set forth by the Animal Welfare Act. Such standards include health care, proper sanitation, excessive and cage specifications to name a few. You can find more information about PUPS here: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.847: Animal Welfare Act standards: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_welfare/downloads/awr/awr.pdf231 of 300 SignaturesCreated by NIcole Ibarra

ACTION: It's time to end Too Big To FailBig Wall Street megabanks are still putting American taxpayers at risk. Big banking institutions like Bank of America and Citibank carry more assets than they have capital to cover. That means that if those assets go south, the banks can't recover on their own. And when a bank's failure means the failure of the American economy, the taxpayers are forced to step in. It's called "Too Big To Fail." It should also be called "too risky for the American economy" and "too reckless to continue." This is the practice that brought our economy to the brink once before. That's why I have a new, bipartisan plan to end Too Big To Fail, and break up Wall Street megabanks for good. It would require that banks carry enough capital to cover their own losses, or force them to downsize so that they are no longer a risk to the American economy. This is a common sense solution -- but I need all of us to help. So sign your name today, and make sure members of Congress know that you're in favor of the ending "Too Big to Fail."123,946 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Sherrod Brown, U.S. Senator

Tell Governor Rick Scott to VETO HB 655VETO HB 655. Right now, Florida's hardworking families cannot afford to get sick because more than a million have been denied access to health care coverage and none of them will have Earned Sick Time protections. This could have serious impacts on Florida's service-driven economy, not to mention the health and well-being of our families. But you can change this and protect Florida's families by vetoing HB 655.10,651 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Maria McCluskey

Senator Feinstein: End the suffering of same-sex binational couples! The painful choice between the country one loves and the person one loves should never happen -- yet thousands of Americans are forced to make this choice every day. The Uniting American Families Act (UAFA) will protect 48,000 same-sex families from deportation -- including the 24,000 children being raised by these families. On May 9, the mark-up process for Comprehensive Immigration Reform will begin, and we expect an amendment to be offered that would end the suffering of these same-sex binational couples, and Senator Feinstein will be the deciding vote in this process.45 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Felipe Sousa-Rodriguez

Save public employee pensionsGovernor Corbett aided by Representative Chris Ross (R-Chester County) have decide to create a false emergency in which they want to move current PA employees from a safe pension system to a risky 401k retirement plan that will cost taxpayers more money than the current pension plan. Many other states have tried this and decided to return to a pension system because it was too costly to the taxpayers. I have been a teacher for 18 years and have paid 7.5 % of my salary into my pension. If this bill is passed public employees could lose as much as $17,000 a year when they retire. Meanwhile PA lawmakers can retire with almost full pensions, some as much as $69,000 per year up to $89,000 per year. PA lawmakers also recently voted to increase their pensions by $6,000 a year per member. Please support me and other public employees in telling the governor this plan is too costly, risky, morally unethical, and unlawful according to the PA constitution. In my many emails, phone calls, and letters to Chris Ross he assured me changing the pension was unlawful according to PA's constitution. Now he is cosponsoring a bill that actually does this184 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ed Campbell
