Having the day off from work, the day your Angel baby was born. I have never worked this day. Not everyone understands this special day. It should be off, (with pay) for the parents to visit their childs grave and grieve.

But the majority of Granite State residents support commonsense gun safety laws to keep dangerous firearms out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. 9 in 10 New Hampshire residents support closing the "gun show loophole" by requiring background checks for all firearm sales—including private sales and transfers. But rather than standing with her constituents, Senator Kelly Ayotte is siding with tea-party radicals and the extreme NRA gun rights lobby by rejecting legislation in Congress to require universal background checks. Please sign our petition - and let Senator Ayotte know that you stand with mainstream New Hampshire citizens in supporting universal background checks and other commonsense solutions to prevent gun violence in our communities.

In a high cost of living state like Massachusetts, no one can make ends meet, never mind support a family, on just $8 an hour. It's a poverty wage, and it's a shame. President Obama called for raising the minimum wage in his State of the Union address. But it'll never pass through Congress because of Republican opposition. In Massachusetts, we don't have that problem. We have large Democratic majorities in the legislature, and if we can't pass an increase in the minimum wage, we should be ashamed. Putting money into the pockets of the workers who need it most would lift working families out of poverty and boost the economy too. Gov. Patrick, with your leadership we can raise the minimum wage.

I am a vegan and I have been affected emotionally and spiritually by the horrible abuse of animals for the sake of food. We have so many other sources of protein that's healthy and harmless to living souls. My request is on a serious level of growth, we will quickly grow in farming and agriculture if we choose the road of veganism. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to express our feelings and beliefs.

These measures will put a stop to the destructive, environmental catastrophe waiting to happen if GMO crops are grown in the pristine Willamette Valley. GMO's will endanger a rapidly expanding organic food industry, 4th in the nation for sales [120+ million] and #5 in overall acreage. It will affect the Oregon wine industry as well. The Law of Unintended Consequences directly applies to allowing GMO's to be grown in Oregon. The large, negative economic impact will hurt the state, farming communities, and families.

We need to limit corporate and special interest influence over elected officials and representatives. Limit electoral campaign contributions to registered voters within the district, limited to what ordinary voters can afford.

As you know, Woodmont Orchards and the wooded area along Hovey Road are in the process of being developed. This future development as well as exit 4A WEST, if it is built, have great potential to significantly increase traffic and noise within our neighborhoods. Unfortunately, the study areas of the Traffic Impact Assessment DID NOT include surrounding neighborhoods, like Wedgewood Drive.

The current minimum wage can’t support families. The federal minimum wage, $7.25 an hour, amounts to only $15,080 a year. That’s over $7,000 below the federal poverty line for a family of four. A minimum wage worker working 40 hours a week cannot afford a two bedroom apartment in any state in America. People who work for a living should be able to support their families and live off their wages.

In November, Michigan voters overwhelmingly rejected the Emergency Financial Manager law that allowed Governor Snyder to takeover any municipality they deem as unstable. But immediately after the law was rejected by voters, Governor Snyder and Republicans in Lansing pushed forward a new version of the bill, completely ignoring the message voters sent. Now, Governor Snyder has appointed an Emergency Financial Manager of Detroit, who will be paid $275,000 annually. This state takeover threatens the hardest working Detroiters who could suffer from jobs being terminated and city services eliminated. Tell Governor Snyder to listen to Michigan voters and end the state takeover of Detroit.
