Protect Public Access! Keep Kohanaiki (“Pine Trees") Jeep Trail Open! For generations, Kohanaiki (“Pine Trees’) has been the heart of a huge part of Kona community's life and living Hawaiian culture. After 20 years of fighting development proposed for that coastal land, the community won many battles but lost the war to private golf course and luxury housing development. Environmental degradation incomparable to any that has occurred through generations of the land’s passive use is occurring, along with threats to traditional public access. For 60 years, the Public has been able to drive to the south end of Kohanaiki for camping, picnicking, subsistence fishing, and other recreational and cultural activities; but that access is slated to change soon. Without that traditional access, the huge, southern portion of the so-called "public park" will become an exclusive playground of the Rich. Is that okay with you?3,659 of 4,000 SignaturesCreated by janice palma-glennie

state admendements to remove benefits and adjust wages for senate and the houseI believe as individual states we should vote in amendments to lower wages of our representatives house or senate ,and remove all benefits. Also introduce term limits to 2 or 4 years maximum overriding their power to raise their wages this will cut down on special interest groups and corporate interference and assist in refocusing our government on the real needs of the people and not party lines1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by stephanie

Take the Fluoride poison out of my waterThe anti - fluoridation group "Fluoride Action Network" has been translating scientific studies done abroad to find out if there is a pattern of neurotoxicity caused by fluoride. There have been only two studies done in the USA on the effect of fluoride on I.Q. scores, not enough to establish a pattern. FAN has now found thirty six non-USA studies in humans that demonstrate that moderately high fluoride exposures reduce I.Q. scores; further, the studies show the effect to be dose related - the greater/longer the exposure to fluoride, the more I.Q. points lost. There is increasing evidence that exposure to fluoride causes thyroid disease, and since it damages the thyroid and pituitary at the same time, the damage does not show up on the standard thyroid test for TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). Fluoride has also been linked to being the cause of autoimmune disease, as it forcibly displaces iodine in the body and takes the place of that iodine, causing structural changes that confuse the immune system and render that molecule subject to attack by antibodies, which then also attack healthy unaltered molecules, resulting in many autoimmune diseases. Pro-fluoride forces are also suppressing information showing a link between fluoride and cancer. Cancer incidence was much lower in the fifties, under 1%, than the greater than 50% rates we suffer today. Water fluoridation was introduced in the meantime, and iodine in baked goods was replaced with bromine. The amount of iodine added to iodized salt has been precipitously reduced over the years, and remains poorly bio-available. Since fluoride leaches iodine from the body, and iodine is essential for the process of cell "suicide" or apoptosis that is thought to be the main way the body eliminates cancerous cells before a tumor is manifested, it makes sense that fluoride has a role in promotion of cancer, and many studies show evidence that supports and suggests this. The damaging effects of fluoride on the human body are well known and too many to enumerate here. Please remove fluoride from Indiana public water supplies by law/statute.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Janice Smith
