• Restore Architecture as a Professional Degree Under Federal Student Loan Policy
Beginning July 1, 2026, OBBBA would limit graduate loan amounts for degrees no longer classified as professional. Architecture students—who already experience some of the highest tuition costs, longest educational pathways, and lowest early-career salaries among professional fields—would face even greater financial barriers. This change risks excluding lower-income students and students of color from entering the profession, harming diversity, innovation, and the long-term strength of the field. The public also stands to lose. If fewer people can afford the training required to become licensed, communities will have fewer qualified architects, resulting in weaker oversight of building standards, reduced design quality, and potential threats to safety and sustainability. This issue matters beyond the classroom—it affects future architects, current students, educators, employers, and every community that relies on safe buildings and responsible design.

  • Say NO to Proposed Traffic Changes on Beechwood BLVD, Wilkins Ave, and S Linden Ave
By signing the following, I am petitioning the City and DOMI to: 1.    Not implement their current proposal. 2.    Keep S. Linden Ave a two-way street for its entire length. 3.    Meet with residents who live within the project area to draw on their experiences and collaborate on solutions to improve pedestrian, cyclist, and motorist routes without compromising safety, removing existing on-street parking, or creating new-unsafe conditions for any mode of transportation. 4.    Conduct a traffic study of the project area during multiple times of the day – specifically during morning commute, school dismissals on S Linden (and the implications this will create for the safety at the schools on S Dallas and Reynolds), and evening commute. 5.    Conduct a traffic study on the implications this will have on other nearby intersections (Hastings Street, Reynolds Street, Gettysburg Street, Fennimore Street, Edgerton Ave, Glen Arden Drive, Kingston Way, Elysian Street, S Dallas Ave, Conover Road, Sinnet Way, Selwyn Street, Lacy Way) pedestrian safety and traffic congestion. 6.    Consider speed humps as an alternative on S Linden in the school zone and near the light at the five-way intersection.

  • Petition to Halt the Proposed MAHANOY TWP. WAREHOUSE PROJECT On The Morea Road.
The Morea Road warehouse project must be reevaluated because it will permanently reshape the community, placing a massive industrial facility only 300 yards from existing homes, increasing noise, air pollution, and heavy truck traffic while destroying local green space and wildlife habitat. Residents were never properly notified or given the chance to participate in earlier decisions, despite the project’s direct impact on their safety, health, property values, and quality of life. Ensuring thorough environmental studies, transparent public communication, and responsible planning is essential not to stop progress, but to protect families and preserve the long-term well-being and livability of Mahanoy Township for current and future generations.

  • Tell Congress: Pass the Remove the Stain Act
Indigenous communities and allies have long maintained that at Wounded Knee in 1890, U.S. soldiers didn’t fight a battle — they carried out a massacre. One hundred years later, Congress apologized to the descendants of the hundreds killed at Wounded Knee, but even today, 19 soldiers who participated in the atrocity are commended with the highest U.S. military award: the Medal of Honor. For a moment, it seemed a sliver of justice might finally be within reach and the medals would be revoked. In 2022, after decades of fervent organizing and advocacy, Congress and then-Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin began reviewing whether the medals should be rescinded. Earlier this year, Trump’s War Secretary, Pete Hegseth, slammed that door shut: “We’re making it clear [the soldiers] deserve those medals. This decision is now final.” But Hegseth’s wrong — he doesn’t have the final say. Congress can rescind the medals by passing Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Jill Tokuda’s Remove the Stain Act (S.1915, H.R.3609). Public pressure is a surefire way that we’ll force lawmakers to act against a misguided Defense Secretary like Pete Hegseth. Please speak out now.

  • Safe Streets for Bergen County
Current street designs are dangerous, especially for those outside of a vehicle.  They encourage driver speeds in excess of posted speed limits causing crashes that frequently injure or kill our most vulnerable road users, despite being a public space that should be welcoming and accessible by all.  We want changes in our road designs so that residents of Bergen County feel comfortable and safe using any form of transportation they choose, whether they are walking, biking, driving, or taking public transit.

  • Don't Sell Edgecombe County to Big Tech Polluter Interests!
Lack of information about jobs – how many will actually be created, whether these jobs will be permanent facility-based jobs or temporary construction jobs, and whether Edgecombe County residents will be prioritized in recruiting – is one of many major unknowns that have led activists to oppose of the county’s sale of the land to the developer. Since launching this petition in November 2025, we have gained over 200 signatures. Our presence at monthly board of commissioners meetings has increased local awareness. The county manager's office collected almost 400 community member survey responses about data centers, and 82% were opposed. This led to the county board creating a Data Center Advisory Panel that includes several of our group members, who continue to engage the rest of the panel about the harms of data centers in our community. One of our group members, David Batts, ran for county commissioner in February and WON on a "no data centers" platform. We're eager to support him when he takes up the role formally in November 2026.

  • Save Dallas F. Nicholas Sr. Elementary School — Keep Our Community School Open
Dallas F. Nicholas Sr. Elementary School is more than a place of learning  it is the heart of our community. Families rely on this school because it provides consistent support, stability, and a safe environment where every child is seen and valued. Closing this school would: • Disrupt students’ academic and emotional progress • Break the relationships children have built with trusted teachers and staff • Place stress on families who depend on the school’s resources • Undermine a community that has worked together to help students grow This school is inclusive, welcoming students of all backgrounds and abilities. It is collaborative, bringing families, staff, and educators together. And above all, it is supportive, offering encouragement and care that many children cannot find elsewhere. Our children deserve stability. Our families deserve choice. Our community deserves a school that stays open.

  • Tell Congress - Don't Let Trump Dismantle the Department of Education!
The Trump administration is illegally shifting agencies within the Department of Education  that oversee billions in support for our public schools, especially our most vulnerable students, to other departments with zero education expertise. This is an unprecedented and blatantly illegal move that will harm students across America -  Skyrocketing class sizes, cutting supports for students with disabilities, gutting job-training opportunities, and making for post-secondary education less accessible. Tell your elected representatives to stop the administration illegal efforts to destroy the Department of Education!

  • Casa Verde SD Tenant Petition for Repairs, On-Site Staffing, and Compensation
Due to the fire alarm system issues alone, many of us have experienced disruptions in sleep, stress, and anxiety. Even further, tenants with pets are working to handle and maintain the potential developed stress in their pets.  Furthermore it is a violation of the health and safety code to not promptly fix faulty fire alarm systems. We have a full record of everytime the fire alarm systems have been faulty, as well as a video of the very last time it went off, (that lasted two hours), and an event number from the police (who responded because 11 people from around the neighborhood called).  It is also a violation of California’s Code of Regulations to not have a responsible person present on the site at all times. And in the event there is not one, the owner is required to stay on site. Through these maintenance issues, we have had no responsible person onsite since Addie quit and moved out. Had we had one, they would have turned off the alarm the last time it went off.  Finally, it is also a violation of public and private nuisance laws to leave a faulty alarm system blaring without fixing it. We’re in the middle of a busy area, and the noise (as we were told from police and bystanders) could be heard from 5-8 blocks down. And, as mentioned above, in the last incident we had 11 callers to the police from the surrounding neighborhood.  All in all, this property is in violation and has been in multiple violations. We have suffered the consequences of those violations and we now are demanding repairs and compensation for all that we’ve gone through.

  • Increase Security on the University of South Florida Tampa Campus
This petition aims to bring islamophobic harrassment and attacks to the attention of the University of South Florida administration. They need to speak up about such harrassment, and make it clear that this kind of violence will not be tolerated on campus. They also need to make sure that students feel safe and secure on campus so that they are able to excel and succeed in their studies.

  • Hold Senators Accountable for Voting AGAINST Stopping Trump’s Warmongering in Venezuela
Sens. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Tim Kaine (D-VA), and Rand Paul (R-KY) recently forced a vote on a War Powers Resolution (WPR) that would’ve BLOCKED Trump’s path to war with Venezuela. Unfortunately, 51 senators shamefully voted to ALLOW Trump to keep marching us to the brink of another war. If you’re outraged, you’re not alone. But as Trump continues to bomb first and ask questions later, this won’t be the last opportunity for Congress to assert its authority and pull us off the path to war. This fight isn’t over. If we are going to flip the handful of votes we need to build a majority of senators willing to exert their constitutional war powers and stop Trump from starting a new endless war, accountability can go a long way. That’s why these 51 senators need to hear from constituents like you.
