Gov. Perry cut state funding for volunteer fire departments by 75% for 2012-2013. This left our communities and firefighters at risk. Tell Gov. Perry to abandon the shameful cuts and to promptly reinstate a budget that fully helps volunteer fire departments to save lives, property and jobs.

I believe if we can put all of the resources we have into making counseling a priority and treat it just as important as medical medicine. More families can be helped, which will help more children and then less crimes. The salaries of these professional are seriously poor. Due to that, there is a large turn over, which is damaging to some one receiving treatment. Because of the insurance coverage,often families rather not seek the help and if they need a psychologist that specializes, only the rich can afford them. I am a witness to all of this first hand.

The closing of the Yemassee, South Carolina main post office has seriously affected the people of the town and surrounding areas. We have to travel 7 miles to the Early Branch, South Carolina post office to get our mail. Working people cannot get their mail because the hours of the post office make it very difficult to pick up mail. In addition, the post office closes at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday which also makes it very hard to get mail. We are concerned because not everyone has transportation to get to Early Branch. We cannot get any answers as to when or if the post office is going to reopen or relocate. We simply cannot afford to have the post office closed indefinitely because too many people depend on and need it. In conclusion, we desperately need the post office and asked that this matter be looked into and remedied in a timely manner.

The WV Legislature is again considering HR9 & SR24 - House and Senate Resolutions calling for a US Constitutional Amendment to undo the damage caused the Supreme Court's 'Citizens United' vs FEC decision. We need hundreds of WV Citizens to sign the petition to the Legislature asking them to pass these Resolutions!

Requiring bike's to be registered in order to commute on city streets, bike lanes, country/back roads,etc. To many public roads are being turned into bike's only, one lane bike the other cars, bike paths. Bike registeration should be manditory!

San Francisco's North East Mission district is an especially unique and complex mix of light industrial and manufacturing type businesses as well as residences with some retail/commercial businesses in varying degrees of proportion. The MTA is currently working on a parking management plan for this area. Parking meters and time limits alone cannot adequately address all the diverse problems of mixed-use neighborhoods such as ours. San Francisco has the ability and the capacity to create a parking management program in the Mission that serves local residents and businesses, and advances the City’s goals. Our hope is that a carefully thought out, innovative and diverse parking plan will improve parking for both businesses and residents.

On March 6, 2013, during the US Senate confirmation hearings on the nomination of William Brennan as Director of the CIA, Attorney General Eric Holder REFUSED TO RULE OUT USING DRONES TO KILL AMERICAN CITIZENS ON AMERICAN SOIL, without trial and without charges. Under intense questioning by several Senators, Mr. Holder repeatedly defended the Obama administration's drone policy, stating that the administration does not intend to conduct such targeted killings on American soil, but insisting that IT HAS THE RIGHT to do so if deemed necessary.

As a primary care doctor working with the poor and uninsured, I get to see how broken our health care system is daily. The fractured, wasteful system has obvious negative effects on patients and caregivers. The answer is a single payer system. But since we don't have the political will to try that - lets add a public option into the health care exchange and pilot what that might look like for the future.

Ban Styrofoam that most cities are not recycling. An exception would be for any medical or life saving purposes. Stop Styrofoam from being made and sold to the public.

What was Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke doing today while several major accidents flared on the freeways, and illegal guns allegedly plagued the Milwaukee County streets by criminals? Was he knocking on doors, raiding drug houses, or even directing a new traffic safety program to deputies? No. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke was hosting the right-wing Mark Belling Late Afternoon Show on News/Talk 1130 WISN AM radio. For at least 3 hours - not counting any travel, prep and production time - Sheriff Clarke was not defending Milwaukee County residents from the gang-bangers he proposes run rampant across the county with illegal weapons. He was not putting into place any new regulations to guard drivers on the roadways his department is responsible for against wrong-way or drunk drivers.
