Mr. President: Stop global warming; replace coal with Liquid Fluoride Thorium ReactorsLiquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors (LFTRs) are safe and can provide energy and water security for the entire world for thousands of years. LFTRs cannot melt down (they’re molten by design), they do not need backup power (as did Fukushima), they produce less than 1% of the waste of current reactors, they use abundant thorium instead of uranium for fuel, they can be used to generate hydrogen (as a basis for synthetic fuels to replace gasoline and diesel), they can be mass produced, they cannot be used to generate weapons material, and they can be used to replace oil as the energy source for the ever-growing desalination needs of the world. For background information of LFTRs, copy and paste this link into your browser's address bar: http://stopglobalwarmingpetition.blogspot.com/44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Williams

Blue Cross Blue Shield: Stop playing with my medications! At the beginning of the year, BCBS stopped covering my aunt's compounded medications, which she has been effectively and safely using for years, under the close supervision of her physician. Their solution is to force her to use a stronger medication from a "regular" pharmacy, which is more expensive for both her and BCBS and contains chemicals that could be very detrimental to her health. Even after she offered to pay entirely out-of-pocket, she was told that wasn't an option and that she must use the medication BCBS covers, or none at all. Why is an insurance company given more authority than a physician on what medications are best for patients? Only 2% of the population uses compounded medications, so BCBS is betting that even if all of them speak out, there still won't be enough momentum to push a change. Speak out against BCBS playing with people's health!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mindy Robinson

President Obama: Stop Buying Guns from Assault Weapons MakersIt's simple: President Obama can put an end to civilian assault weapon sales in America by ordering all Federal agencies to stop purchasing guns from companies (and their affiliates and subsidiaries) who manufacture or sell civilian assault weapons. Faced with the prospect of losing all their Defense Department and Federal law enforcement sales, these manufacturers and arms dealers will have no choice but to halt civilian assault weapons manufacture. They will then likely direct the NRA to support an assault weapons ban, so that they can compete in the civilian weapons market.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marshall Goldberg

California Legislature----amend AB-2588Airborne emissions permitted from some facilities in California subject to the "Toxic Hot Spots" Act (former AB-2588) have been found to deposit and accumulate on surfaces such as roofs, streets and sidewalks as well as into soils where the public is exposed. Some of the deposition/accumulation has been to hazardous waste levels. The Department of Toxic Substances Control and the local air quality management districts must be required to jointly address this problem.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Phil Chandler

Ban Further Fracking in MontanaWe are concerned about the effects of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) on our environment, quality of life and health. We wish to safe guard our clean water supplies for human, crop and livestock consumption, our starry night skies from light pollution, our roads from destruction, our families from violent lawless behavior, our earth and our health from caustic carcinogenic chemicals, our property from right of way violations and our infrastructure from the devastation of earthquakes.93 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Campbell

Don't ax The Children First ProgramOK House Bill 1063 would disband a program that sends public health nurses into the home of poor, first-time mothers. As a nurse, I know this program contributes to healthy moms and babies but also cuts the risk of child abuse and neglect.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jo Ann Flournoy

Amend Maryland's CAP law.Maryland's child access prevention ( CAP) law needs to be amended. Its intent 20 years go was to prevent children from accessing firearms due to irresponsible firearm owners. Maryland's CAP law ,one of 28 nationwide, defines a child as under 16, has no penalty for accessing an unloaded firearm, and a maximum $ 1,000 fine for a firearm owner allowing a child to access a loaded firearm. CAP laws do not take away a gun owner's constitutional right to own a firearm , nor do they they tell gun owners how to secure or store their firearms.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James Giza
