It is imperative that gun traffickers understand that they are as responsible for a gun being used in a crime as the person who engages in that crime. Transporting and selling weapons across state lines without a licensce must also be met with strong penalties, such as jail or extreme fines.

The state of UT currently has no regulations regarding students who are homeschooled. The purpose of this petition is to bring awareness to this issue and to start requiring parents who homeschool to provide test scores, and/or professional evaluations, plus a state-approved curriculum. There are several states who uphold this caliber of responsibility; these states include Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and North Dakota. I have been personally affected by this issue in regards to my own step children who are currently being homeschooled by their mother. It is obvious these kids are very behind in their studies and unfortunately their father has no legal bearing to make sure they are receiving a proper education. Essentially his hands are tied. Please sign this petition in an effort to make sure Utah's homeschooled kids are being prepared for college and are receiving the same opportunities to learn as those in public and private schools.

Many seniors are facing having to move - due to housing not meeting/agreeing to increased rent contracts. Many have moved into these 55+ places, because of physical health problems due to age and also seeking a safe place to reside. Many have moved into these places - thinking it would be the last move before death ~ only to find out that they might have to move again.

Selling of State Stores

Gov. Mitch Daniels "found" over $500 million in funds that had been "lost" when the last 2 budgets were developed. That money needs to be restored to the K-12 Education budget in order to make our schools whole again. Public school education should be the top priority for the state legislature.

Please allow 1000's of adults and otherwise to be free of the pain that cannabis so simply replaces with relaxation, even lower blood pressure. How many humans with seizures do we have to cry for before they're allowed to take non-mind altering Cannabidiols (CBDs) from cannabis to instantly stop the seizures before it's obvious that cannabis certainly doesn't belong in the category of Heroin as a Schedule 1 drug. Cocaine, 1000 times worse than cannabis, is only Schedule 2, so cannabis should be no more than a parking ticket/Schedule 3, and certain forms such as CBDs which do not get you "high" should be legal for pain/seizures.

It has become obvious that congress has no accountability to the people of these United States of America. I suggest We The People call hearings where We The People as a solid Civic group get to ask questions of our governing representatives on matters that are of interest to The People, such as and not limited to: Why pass a law that restrains the government from getting the best price on drugs from big Pharma? Why are we subsidizing Big Oil? Why the drone program and how exactly does it work? Why do we need to spend a Trillion dollars annually on defense? Why is there so much Lobbying money allowed in politics? These, and many other questions that We The People have no answers to. Once elections are over, our representatives get ingrained in a system that locks in many would be good intentioned people into a slow process of change that is neither good for the country nor does it solve many of the bigger issues. I want more clarity as to who, why, where these decisions are made and by whom so I can better understand who our congress is serving.

I have been personally researching this "private" highway since last April. I can see no long-term benefits to Mainers. We are simply the easiest way for way for big investors to get products out to foreign markets, while opening Maine up for resource extraction to those same markets.

Public school funding is always an issue. I was personally affected when RIF was brought into play and the school public school system has not been the same. Too many children have gotten their little hands on guns. There should be legislature to pursecute those who are careless with leaving guns around unattended. Trace the guns to the owners and prosecute them for being careless.

I use a very small amount of energy per month of electricity and gas, however the minimum “customer charge" is often at or more than half of the bill. This regressive charge penalizes those who save energy. This charge should be modified to be based on the amount of energy used, proportionately placing the burden on those who use more energy.

If enacted, this would provide single payer health care for residents of the State of Washington.
