I have not seen this proposed as a means of preventing identity theft, but if it is as simple as it seems to me, it should have been done years ago. Too many people are being victimized by identity theft and we need a government that is proactive in stopping this problem.

We want the postal service to continue 6 day delivery and we want the postal service to stop closing post offices and cutting retail operating hours. Our goal is to see the dramatic pre payments into retirement accounts to stop and be returned to the postal service. We are proud of our postal network in Vermont and want to keep it the way it is.

Norfolk Southern is proposing to expand its 47th Street Terminal rail yard in Englewood. The 47th Street Terminal doesn’t just handle rail but is an intermodal facility where freight is transferred from rail to trucks and vice versa. This will increase the size of the yard by 57 percent. It will also cause a significant increase in the number of trucks in and out of the yard. The project expansion would increase the amount of diesel soot going into Englewood’s air, worsening an already serious problem with air quality and asthma in the Englewood community.

Senator Marco Rubio has become the most vocal Republican on immigration reform. But he needs to know that relegating some immigrants to a de facto second-class status for life isn’t good for immigrants or America. He has stated publicly that he supports a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the US – but the process he’s designing could take decades, meaning that some people will be unable to become citizens in their lifetimes. This is not acceptable. We know the citizenship process must be straightforward and real; it should take a matter of years -- not decades.

Throughout the country, fossil fuel polluters and their right-wing allies like the American Legislative Exchange Council are working to roll back clean energy policies in a brazen attempt to halt our progress and protect their dirty profits.1 The latest attack is threatening Kansas's rapidly expanding wind power industry. The State Senate Committee on Utilities will soon consider an ill-conceived bill that would roll back Kansas's highly successful renewable energy standard, setting the state's clean energy economy back by four years. Senate Bill 82 would jeopardize Kansas's 12,000-employee wind power industry and could put a stop to new clean energy investments in the state.3 We need to speak out now to make sure Kansas remains one of the country's leaders in wind power. The attack on wind energy in Kansas is part of an orchestrated effort by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a secretive conservative group known for attacking clean energy laws and pushing voter-suppression schemes nationwide. ALEC is a powerful player in Kansas Republican politics, with both Senate President Susan Wagle (R-Wichita) and House Speaker Ray Merrick (R-Stillwell) on its board of directors. At least four of the 11 members of the Committee on Utilities -- Forrest Knox, Julia Lynn, Ty Masterson and Mike Petersen -- are formally affiliated with ALEC. I'm just a working class head-of-household American that is tired of worrying about "small" issues like Social Security and Medicaid. Rather than cut these worthwhile (and dire necessity) programs, why not put a tax on the people who caused much of our economic problems.

i have been paying nearly 1000.00 a month for insurance and don't think i can do it much longer. the insurance pools would maybe give me the ability to obtain health insurance at a reasonable cost. i represent disabled people who have no insurance and the pools would allow them to get adequate medical care as well.
