I believe your group deserves Mayor Nutter to honor the contract you have requested -- NO MATTER who doesn't understand or accept the terms. I know first hand the quality of your employees represents an excellent model for the rest of the City employees to learn from. I had the pleasure of serving your many locations while working for AFLAC and note the team spirit each tour offers to one another and the community at large.If you think that your firefighters deserve fair treatment. I request that the use of cellphones while moving in a motor vehicle (i.e. driving that motor vehicle) be outlawed. It is a matter of safety. I frequently encounter other drivers who are preoccupied on their cell phones while poorly executing turns and other maneuvers in traffic It is not merely scary; it is life endangering and completely unnecessary.

California prisons drain $10 billion from taxpayers annually. Prisons can and should be self-sufficient. Oregon requires prisoner to work. Prisoners will gain skills and be employable when they are released.

Proposed bans on assault type military firearms will not be effective in preventing mass shootings. Many other semi automatic and even lever or bolt action firearms can hold many cartridges for rapid fire. By allowing only singe shot firearms the danger of mass shootings would be reduced significantly.
