The federal government is offering to give states money to set up a program to provide Medicaid to anyone who makes less than $15,000 a year. The NH legislature has formed a committee to reject the money. On February 14, 22013 they will vote on this bill. This petition is to encourage them to vote against the bill.

Texas has more than 25 percent of its population without any health insuarance coverage. Affordable Care Act provides funding to expand the health insurance coverage through extra funding via Medicaid Program. Federal Government will pay 9 dollars of every 10 dollars of this Medicaid expansion; yet Governor Rick Perry is refusing billions of dollars for healthcare purely on political basis.

The so called "Right to Work" laws have effectively ended prospects for most Arizonans to earn a decent wage and live a middle class life style. Corporate greed and the right wings belief in so called "trickle down" economics are the pathway to a feudal economy. Repeal these laws now.

The legalization of marijuana would bring in a lot of tax revenue for missouri, it has a lot of medical uses, it also can be used to develope bio-fuels, and fabrication of many materials we use every day. The postive effects of marijuana greatly outweighs the bad. Marijuana should be legal because it can help people immensely through medical uses and is drastically less harmful than tobacco and alcohol with recreational use.

Shell Oil announced that it will not resume its oil drilling efforts in the Arctic. While this is not a promise to drop its goal of putting oil platforms in the wild, remote Arctic, it is an admission by Shell that their plans are fraught with problems.

I got fired just for speaking my mind about my working conditions. That's not just wrong, it's illegal. I've worked as a Cablevision/Optimum Technician for more than 6 years. A year ago, my coworkers and I voted to form a union, so we could have a voice on the job. But a year has come and gone, and Cablevision/Optimum management hasn't negotiated in good faith for a contract. Along with my co-workers, I asked to talk to my managers. They say they have an "open door" policy, but when we wanted to talk, they said they were too busy. Then they fired 22 of us, telling us we were "permanently replaced". They locked us out and fired us for speaking out about working conditions. That's illegal and just plain wrong. I'm without my paycheck just as my rent is going up. I have two children, Alexis and Rayshawn, one of whom has had serious medical care needs which has left us with a stack of bills. Meanwhile, Cablevision's CEO, James Dolan, made $11.5 million last year alone. Stand with me by signing my petition to urge Cablevision/Optimum to reinstate me and all of my coworkers.

We want to remind you of your oath to uphold your oath of office, which includes upholding the separation of religious beliefs from civil laws. According to Colorado Department of Agriculture statistics for fiscal year 2011, Colorado animal shelters euthanized 31,751 animals. Many of these animals were adoptable and needlessly died. On June 11, 2013, animal shelters across the U.S. are taking a pledge to not kill any savable animals for Just One Day. We are asking for Official Colorado support for Just One Day, encouraging all of Colorado’s shelters to market their animals to the public, aggressively partner with rescue groups, host special adoption events that have discounted and affordable rates, stay open for extended hours, and ask their communities to help them empty the shelter in the best way possible, where no animals die.

30 million uninsured patients are expected to enter the healthcare system through 2019 as a result of insurance mandates required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. At the same time, a shortage of primary care physicians is expected to surpass 52,000 by 2025, according to a recent study published in the November/December issue of the Annals of Family Medicine. SB471 expands public access to conservative, cost-effective, primary care physicians in underserved and rural areas by expanding the scope of chiropractic medicine. We’re calling on Gov. Martinez, members of the New Mexico State Legislature, and members of the Senate Public Affairs Committee to stand-up for public safety and VOTE YES on SB471.

The state Senate has introduced a bill (SB 76), that instructs that Governor to negotiate with the federal government to open up our coast to oil and gas drilling. Allowing drilling would threaten our fragile coastal ecosystem, and put our tourist based coastal economy at risk. Imagine if a BP-like spill happened along the Outer Banks! This bill also allows the state to start issuing fracking permits in August 2015, without another vote to lift the moratorium.
