Legalize marijuana for medical purposes, similar to the Colorado laws.

Hydrolic fracturing, or fracking, by the gas industry, is trying to make a foothold in New York State. The process they use to extract gas from shale, deep in the earth's surface is extremely volitile, never proven safe, & effects all of us through our drinking water, food, & the air we breath. Governor Cuomo has the power to ban fracking in the entire state.

The purpose of this petition is to encourage the State of Missouri House of Representatives and Senate to pass legislation that enables felons that have demonstrated rehabilitation employment protection. Currently, employers are able to openly discriminate against all felons uniformly. We are asking that felons that: 1) Have discharged their sentences successfully 2) Have not had any arrests or law violations other than traffic tickets for at least 7 years 3) Have successfully completed a vocational training (e.g. cosmetology, construction, etc), associates or bachelors degree at an accredited institution of higher education.

All I have to say about offshore drilling in NC/SC/VA is "VISIT THE GULF", and remember the effects of the recent BP spill there. Our offshore coast is much more prone to weather damage, ie. hurricanes & storms, making the spill possibility alone much more likely. Please do NOT consent to off-shore drilling in NC/SC/VA !!

No one questions the benefits of a happy, healthy marriage. However, the government should not be in the business of promoting something that should remain a personal choice of the individuals involved. Not only that, the government should not be in the position of choosing which man a mother will marry, which is exactly what these bills, initiatives, and resolutions propose to do. These women are encouraged to marry the fathers of their children over and above any other men who may be more appropriate and suitable for them. That fatherhood programs have dealt insufficiently with parenting, poverty, employment, and economic issues. Proper attention is not given to the fathers' personal histories, including addictions, history of incarceration for serious crimes, character defects, domestic violence and child abuse. These programs discriminate against mothers, especially poor mothers. They denigrate family forms outside that of the traditional, two-parent married household. In particular, single and divorced mother homes are debased by the dissemination of specious "fatherlessness" statistics

Every day the courts waste enormous amounts of time and money and thousands of people lose money by being taken away from work in the jury selection process. Professional juries would be comprised of people who would attend a two year program learning the letter of the law and developing an unbiased opinion, moving around in a 20 mile radius to different courtrooms to insure the juries would be mixed and remain impartial. It's a win-win for everybody. For the people who cannot afford and do not want to be on a jury, for people who have an aptitude for this line of work and the countless jobs that would be created and for judges who must repeat themselves day in and day out with the patience of Job for people who don't understand the process, and for the already overburdened, financially taxed court system

I have applied for many jobs and have been denied all of them based on my experience. I want to be able to get a job without being discriminated against for my inexperience and take care of my kids, without being a parent on welfare just to take care of my family.

Although California is considered ahead of many of the other states regarding Alimony, we are still living in the dark ages when it comes to opportunity for divorced couples where there are no children, no major assets and where one of the spouses did not work during the marriage. We need to end the court's unlimited jurisdiction over alimony disguised as "spousal support". Regardless of the length of marriage, limits should be set on spousal support. I propose a 5 year maximum spousal support for long term marriages over 20 years to allow the non-working spouse to become self-supporting or to remarry. The standard should be 3 years, and under extreme circumstances 5.

Legalizing it. I have RA & can get pain meds, but then I go from bed to couch to bed! I finally quit the 3 serious cancer drugs they had me on & & down to 1/3 the dosage of steriods. The pain meds numb me & take away any ambition. I take a few hits off a joint & my mind gets to working on other things besides my pain & discomfort & next thing I know I am actually getting something done. It's like hitting you thumb with a hammer. The more you stare at it the more it hurts, but put it off to the side & you don't think about it as much. Still hurts but you can do other things! I am 62 years old & my high on life now is having a good day pain wise & trying to get some enjoyment of living! Or your way I sit on the counch like zombie & watch TV & go to bed & do it all over tomorrow. Is that a way to live? It takes the stiffness & pain of joint damage away to where I can do things without being on a narcotic!!!! It's not like I am abusing drugs, getting wild & crazy, I just want to live out what years I have left & be able do manage my pain & enjoy some sort of life! I have proven to my Doctor that I very seldom use the Oxycodone I was prescibed 2 years ago. In fact that prescription has expired & I still have many left. I only use them when I get tired of the pain & need some rest!! Or would you rather see me taking one every 4 hours? That's no life!!!

Foods created with GMO seeds are scientifically proven unhealthy and potentially dangerous. We have a right to know what is in our food, what seeds it is grown from, and when it is GMO in order to be responsible for our own health. Corporations should NOT have the right to use the media to scare unaware consumers.
