  • Right to Publicity
North Carolina does not provide a statutory basis for right of publicity claims. In 2009, the North Carolina legislature proposed, but did not enact, legislation that addressed the right of publicity. Websites are publishing arrest booking photograph and charging fees for their removal. These website's siphon information from the sheriff's department databases under the Freedom of Information Act. Many of these victims are not guilty of any crime and are vindicated through the court system only to find that their record and mug shot is posted on the Internet causing irreparable damage and suffering resulting in making it difficult if not impossible to find employment. I was arrested and charged with a litany of felonies; all of which were not true, and all of which were immediately dismissed by the district attorney. I have over 20+ years, an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree, and a successful career that had progressively moved forward. I have been looking at a job but cannot find one. Despite paying over $500 and providing the case resolution information to a number of these sites, my mug shot and information is still found on the web, and remains at the head of any internet search of my name. It is imperative that the North Carolina legislature take HB 327 from the 2009 session out of the archives and pass this bill, protecting the citizens of this state from having their reputations ruined by extortionists website operators hiding be hind the Freedom of Information act. references: Florida : http://www.scribd.com/doc/58921958/An-Investigation-Of-arrests-org#download Texas : http://www.fwweekly.com/2011/11/09/an-ugly-business/ Ohio : http://www.toledoblade.com/Courts/2012/12/05/Web-sites-profiting-from-mug-shots-sued-fees-charged-to-remove-online-images.html California : http://digitalcommons.law.scu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1555&context=chtlj http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/north-carolina-right-publicity-law http://www.newyorkpersonalinjuryattorneyblog.com/category/kyle-prall http://www.citmedialaw.org/blog/2011/mugshot-racket-paying-keep-public-records-less-public http://www.fwweekly.com/2011/11/09/an-ugly-business/

  • The deficit
The deficit has been caused by the banking system, mortgage companies, llack of regulatioms to accomodate the 2% , the wealthy, the industrialists, the drug companies, the healthcare system. It is unfair, unjust, and non ethical to expect the middle class to pay for the greed of the wealthy .My request is to reform the healthcare system to lower the cost and increase the efficiency, use alternative medecine ( greater results and less costly.).use nutrients as much as possible to increase the efficiency of the immune system;; educate citizens on the fact that the immune system exist to fight disease. ,lInform people that the medical profession are responsible for at least 3,000 deaths a Day.due to the use of drugs and other mistakes. Subsidize organic farmesrs, not Monsato and the like. With good food, natural ways to work with our physical, body, boosting our immune system and rewarding doctors who keeps patients well, we can decresae the cost of Medicare by half.

  • Repeal California Rural Fire Fee (Tax)
This so called fee is actually a tax imposed on all California rural property owners by Cal Fire. It imposes a $150 yearly tax on over 800,000 properties in the state. This is an illegal tax that did not get a 2/3 majority vote by the state Legislature. This requirement was circumvented by Governor Brown and the Legislature by calling this tax a fee.

  • Audit State Workers Pension Fund
As residents if the great state of Illinois. We should demand the audit of the State Workers Pension Fund. Is it fair to punish all Illinois Residents and State Employees. For the actions taken by politicians in depleting and underfunding this plan. I believe Governor Qiunn should audit all monies that was removed from the fund and sent to other programs be identified and recouped. Why should the entire State pay for past politicians.

  • student loan debt crisis
The debts students get into to get an education is too much. After graduating there are no jobs willing to pay enough for students to attempt to pay back the loans. I owe over $70,000 in student loans and I'm only making $31,000 with a MAED in Special Ed., a BA in Early Childhood Ed. Admin., and an AAS in Early Childhood Ed. And mu pay doesn't reflect my debt. Help students who want to be successful without fearing the debt to become succeasful.

  • Mandate Paid Parental Leave for 16 Weeks
Since reading the NY Times article about stalled policies for families since the Family Medical Leave Act http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/17/opinion/sunday/why-gender-equality-stalled.html?pagewanted=all it's apparent that women AND men deserve time and money to bound with a newly born child. Only if paid maternity leave and paternity leave is provided will women feel they can remain in the workforce and contribute to society and men feel they can be fully present in their family's lives. Let's put the pressure on the US House, Senate, and President Obama to make this a priority!
