Indiana government spends too much time on issues that really don't matter to most working people. Instead of targeting Woman, Gays, Workers and Immigrants and crafting liberal gun laws, we need our leaders to focus on Education, Jobs, Healthcare and Roads. Indiana's biggest problem is the "brain drain". It effects my business when young people leave for more progressive states.

Children, born outside the United States, now ages five through age twelve, brought into this country illegally by their parents should be granted immediate United States citizenship if they have lived here for at least five continuous years. They should not be punished for a crime they did not commit or could not prevent. Currently all children born in the United States, even if their parents are illegal immigrants, are according to the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution American citizens from their birth. Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. Unfortunately, those children brought into the country after birth are penalized by their parents illegal immigrant status. The Eighth Amendment to the Constitution does not allow cruel and unusual punishments. Punishing children for the crimes of their parents is a cruel and unusual punishment and therefore, is not allowed by our Constitution. Being born here, even if their parents are criminals, does not deny a child their right to United States citizenship. Therefore, since children have no way to prevent their parents from committing an illegal act they should not be held accountable and punished for such acts. They should be afforded the same documentation and recognized status as citizens under our Constitution, even though they were not born here, as those children born in the U.S. of illegal immigrants.

Banning assault weapons might not solve the killing but it would sure put a dent into the mass killings that are happening across the country. We should also tax bullets a lot more.

I have not been personally affected by the dropping of Head Start from Attleboro, but no one is speaking for the Attleboro residents who would benefit from Head Start. Please pay attention to providing a proven program for children in a community that has many English Language Learners and many families living in poverty.

It was shocking to me to learn that physical, violent and potentially injurious methods are still being used on our children in public schools. In order to prevent your child from being spanked, you have to submit a letter to the school specifying NOT to spank your child.

As it stands today, electoral votes are what puts the president in office. So every vote of the the people of the United States of America is just entertainment. The president should not need 270 people voting for him to make it to office. He should need millions of votes. Votes from people who eat, breath, and live through the decisions and actions the president makes and takes. 538 people should not be making decisions for 314 million. Please sign this petition, let's give the people of America the most powerful voices on election day.

I have one and have had for about two years. My health is the worst its been in my life. Bad sleep patterns,ring in the ears,stress like i have never had prior bad skin, it goes one and on.

Expansion of Medicaid is necessary to improve the health and economy of North Carolinians.

Illinois has an inefficient unfair regressive flat income tax which does not produce enough revenue, places the greatest burden on those least able to pay, and is contributing to the state's financial crisis. Public pensions and public workers are being blamed for this problem, but compared to other states, Illinois is a low-taxing low-spending state. A progressive graduated income tax would generate needed revenue and would actually lower most voters' taxes. Reforming the state income tax, however, requires a constitutional amendment which must be placed on the ballot by the Illinois state legislature.

This issue is very serious for the safety of all of us.Since the terrible killing in Newtown,Conn. there have been almost an addition 1700 people killed with guns.We need to keep pressure our Congress,our governor and our legislatures.

The roads, bridges and power grid in our country are getting too old for comfort. The roads and bridges were made many years ago for less traffic and lighter loads. It is time for totally new construction before more bridges collapse and more people are killed. The insufficient bases are causing roads to crack and buckle. Black outs will be getying worse because of an outdated power grid.
