I run a childcare facility that is providing childcare on days that children are not in school. Our families have not prepared for childcare costs during the school year. It is important that we provide an affordable program and keep costs down wherever possible. Tens of thousands of children living in food-insecure households are entering a school year that right now is not prepared to provide them with meals throughout the week. If our youth are not fed they will not be able to make the most of the school year and more children will fall behind in school. The impact of this will stick with the current generation of school-age children for the rest of their lives. Many families simply do not have the resources to provide breakfast and lunch for their children even in normal times. The USDA has allowed schools to provide this service since 1975 and it is more important today than ever before. Town officials are evaluating an economic development proposal called “Project Aisle” that will allow a HIGH INTENSITY INDUSTRIAL FACILITY to be zoned directly adjacent to agricultural and residential areas at Ronald Reagan Parkway and E County Road 400 N. This facility is in complete opposition for the positive development and reputation of our town. - It will operate 24 hours a day/7 days a week. - It hosts parking/staging areas for 200 semi-trucks that will be on a continuous rotation on our county roads. - The primary structure will be up to 160’ in height. That is 50’ higher than our current water towers and 10’ lower than Bankers Life Fieldhouse. - This automated facility will only hire up to 150 employees divided between 3 shifts. Not a significant number based on its dramatic environmental footprint. - Property values will decrease due to noise, increased traffic and obstructed views.

There is much confusion among parents and teachers regarding Mon County’s re-entry plan for the 2020-2021 school year. The official release posted on 8/14 states that remote is no longer an option. But in emails sent 8/15, the board president states that remote is still an option, and The Dominion Post indicates that remote learning is one of the three plans sent to the governor on 8/14. How can both be true? The new plan (every-other-day instruction, with no remote option) was not an option on the Mon County parent survey but appears now to be the only plan available for families who want their students to be taught by local teachers. Additionally, the burden is placed on teachers, even those with families themselves, to bear the brunt of both remote and in-person classes. As a result, many families (including those of teachers) are reeling, contemplating leaving jobs and jeopardizing their livelihoods in order to provide the assistance their children will need in any of the remaining options, including every-other-day instruction, virtual, or homeschooling.

The younger and more progressive Democrats are the future of the party. If there is a true desire to grow and build for the future then we need to have the younger voices heard. The Democrats of the past have so much speaking time but why only 60 seconds for one of the most relatable democrats for the younger generation of voters? It's way past due for the DNC to embrace the future. AOC is the future of the party.

This is important because even though open conversations like these can be challenging, ballet studios, schools, and companies should talk about the obstacles that race can provide in the ballet world and how to improve that in their community for the first step. Facilitating conversations around race, equity, diversity, and inclusion can be helpful in educating and getting people involved in the hope for eliminating racism. Racial equity is an ongoing process and conversation. Especially in the arts like ballet, it is indirectly nuanced so that BIPOC dancers are disadvantaged. The best way to change and promote racial equality in your surroundings is to have conversations that advocates for diversity and equality with people around you and use your voice to call attention to these matters.

Show your support and approval of the post office and postal workers both financially and morally. Post office employees are under tremendous stress and a movement to snow we FOREVER support them and the post office would give their spirit a lift as well; as improving the financial picture of the USPS.

Due to recent concerns regarding the ability of the USPS to effectively and timely deliver ballots and the health and safety concerns brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are requesting to have drive up locations placed throughout the state of Nevada where citizens can drop off their ballots safely. This alleviates the concern with the USPS delivery times as ballots would go directly to a voting poll location. Contactless delivery would also alleviate concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19.

We want to play. We believe that safety protocols have been established and can be maintained to mitigate concerns of exposure to Covid 19. We believe that we should have the right to make decisions about what is best for our health and our future. Don’t let our hard work and sacrifice be in vain. #LetUsPlay!

Every citizen has the right to vote. With the Republicans sabotaging the Post Office and casting doubt upon its ability to deliver the absentee ballots, we citizens should be able to rely on certified individuals to pick up the ballots of those who cannot vote in person and bring in the votes. In states like Alabama that are closing down polls, using intimidation on voters who show up, and making citizens travel for long distances to get to the polls this can be the answer. We must mobilize quickly. Lets all help to get in the vote!!! We can do this! We can protect our democracy with a new American citizen Pony Express!

There are people at high risk from the covid-19 virus who need to be able to vote by mail near their homes. Removing mail sorting machines before the election might result in ballots that were mailed on time not being forwarded in time to be counted.

Our democracy is hanging by a thread, Louis DeJoy, the 75th Postmaster General of the United States is a member of the Board of Trustees at Elon University. It is clear that he is involved in dismantling the U.S. Post Office and interfering with the political process and the United States Constitution. He, and Elon, need to be held accountable.
