Over the past year, California's Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) program was completely cut from the State budget. Having my mom attend this program allowed my dad to work during the day. ADHC serves adults 5-days-a-week who are frail, disabled or have dementia--keeping them out of nursing homes. It was the ONLY program to help middle-class families because program rules didn't require you to be poor in order to attend. Taking this option away hurts middle-class families.

As of Febuary 1,2013 all of the partime employees of the VCCS(Virginia Community College System) will have the equivalent of a two week reduction in salary. The partime employees receive NO benifits and have not received a raise in almost SIX years. Lets petition all government officials to make the same sacrifice.
