• Stop disabling our young people for doing stupid things under age
If someone under the age of 18 commits a sex crime, they are put on the registry and no one will hire them or rent to them. They become disabled at a very young age and remain that way for the rest of their lives.

  • Governor Walker: Don't rig federal elections
If portions of Act 10 wasn't seen as an obvious political move to defund the political opposition, changing the way Wisconsin counts the Electoral College votes will make it clear to this sophisticated electorate that Walker is at it again.

  • competition for cable tv
I belive that competition amounst the cable tv providers would bring the high cost cable tv and internet down to a more reasonable price. Currently I have Mertrocast Cablevision. I wish that I could get connected to Comcast. If there can be competion for electricity, then I think the same should happen for phone and cable tv.

  • Megatons to Megawatts
There are currently around 17,000 nuclear warheads in the world that can be converted into electrical energy. Given that there is an energy shortage and an overabundance of weapons, why don't we balance the equation?

  • Outlaw "Yo Yo" auto sales by car dealers
Car Dealers often sell cars to unsuspecting consumers telling them that they have been approved for financing and the deal is final, when in reality to deal is not final and financing is not approved. These same dealers then sell the trade in and refuse to refund down payments. This conduct should not be allowed.

  • Support Rep. Peter Welch's Bill to REPEAL $500M Giveaway to Drug Giant, AMGEN
A recent article in The New York Times (http://tinyurl.com/nytimes-amgen) reported on a provision that was tucked into the “fiscal cliff” deal exempts a specific class of drugs from government controls for two years. That exemption will cost Medicare, YOU, nearly $500 million. Ironically, the deal was introduce by Senators McConnell, Baucus, and Hatch, known for their desire to reduce government spending, are known to have received campaign funding from Amgen through its political action committee. Amgen is the same company that had pleaded guilty to marketing an anti-anemia drug illegally and agreed to pay criminal and civil penalties of $762 million, a record settlement for a biotechnology company. The one-paragraph bill was introduced by Peter Welch (D-VT) (http://tinyurl.com/welchbill) and is co-sponsored by Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.), Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.), and Bruce Braley (D-Iowa).

  • In Texas, homeowners are cash cows for.. (read on to see who is cashing in)
There are countless horror stories. Mine is that I unknowingly purchased a home in a "Limited District" (most people have no idea what it is - I didn't, nor do most officials I've raised the issue with, yet they are spreading). I did not receive the statutorily required Notice To Purchaser, or the restrictions, in the contract (is the contract valid, is a buyer bound to participate?) - I would not have bought it. I now pay extra (double) taxes to fund duplicated services already paid for through City taxes, under the premise of "maintinaing pool and parks". I clearly stated upfront I did not want to live where any small group sought to exert power with fear, and homeowners paying for the abuse. I had naively lived in an HOA, saw the entrenchment, misues inflicted, fear mongering propaganda, and moved to get away from it with no intention of ever living in any such contrivance again. It was a extremely traumatic when I was sued, after 3 months of work reinvesting in conservation projects on my new home and participating in the City Landscape Conversion program, for not "getting permission" for a landscape fence 3.5 feet past front of the house due to the existing sidewalk - it is beautiful, and homeowners like it. This, in contrast to years of ignoring pervasive violations is suspect, and discrimination with no good intent. Aging neighborhoods need redevelopment not obstruction and oppression. Instead of granting a variance for improvement, the regressive board via property management via the law firm was allowed to run up fees and walked away with 30k+ of homeowners money, zero value to homeowners - Who won?

  • Iowa Puppy Mills
To get legislation passed in Iowa to have strict laws against Puppy Mills. We would like them shut down & if that can't happen, then very tough inspections. We need to be their voice. The puppy mill breeders (they are not true breeders) are raking in $1M plus a year.
