Most workers in Florida are not covered by disability insurance. Therefore, when they are unable to work due to illness or injury, most will not get paid. The State of California and perhaps others, have a system call State Disability Insurance. It is an entirely employee funded system where they contribute a small percentage of their gross income and if and when illness or injury occurs they receive a percentage of their regular weekly income while they are unable to work. I think its time Florida has such a plan to protect the workers. This is zero cost to the employer and is entirely employee paid. Many thanks.

The first 100 days of the second Obama Administration is moment when we begin to judge President Obama’s legacy. This as his last chance to ensure a legacy of justice for the millions of homeowners, taxpayers and retirees whose homes, savings, and pensions were stolen by Wall Street bankers. On Martin Luther King, Jr Day, when President Obama said, “Our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it”, we took him at his word. That’s why today, along with allies like the Campaign for a Fair Settlement, we are launching the “100 Days to Fix What Wall Street Broke” campaign. We cannot address the growing many barely able to make it if we do not address the mess Wall Street bankers have left us. While it’s always easy to beat up on Congress, the President and his Administration can take strong and effective actions to achieve these goals without any action at all by Congress. All it requires is the courage and determination to stand up to Wall Street. So that’s what we’re demanding: bold action. The Administration must use every available legal, enforcement, and market tool available to keep the President’s past promises and hold Wall Street accountable. President Obama’s legacy will rest on how future generations perceive his ability to deal with the core cause of the economic wreckage of the past four years: reckless practices by Wall Street bankers emboldened by lax regulation, poor oversight, and their outsized influence in the halls of Congress. Our 100 Days Campaign gives him the opportunity to live up to his best intentions and past pledges.

Hawaii's legislature should be unicameral. The quality of the laws passed by our present bicameral legislature leaves much to be desired, a single house can do no worse, with minimum of inane posturing and speech making. Also, there should be term limits and elimination of early retirement, by having legislators meet the same requirements of state civil servants.

We need criminal prosecution of the Wall Street banking executives who brought about the economic damage we're still going through. Many insiders and whistle-blowers have provided clear evidence of fraud, and yet the people responsible have gotten off without any significant punishment, and continue to receive outrageous raises and bonuses. Enormous amounts of taxpayer money are being used to monitor and store our personal emails, phone calls and travel records in order to keep us safe from terrorists, but the bankers did more damage to our country than any terrorists ever did. Our government uses our money to monitor us like criminals in the name of protecting us. Why don't they go after the bankers who actually caused so much harm to us?

Give a cost of living raise to State Employees each year, due to the cost of living increasing each year.

Harry Reid has sold out progressives too many times to count. This latest capitulation to the right, on filibuster reform is just the latest outrage. It's time for more aggressive leadership.

It is time that we found a better way to make Union Labor Fees more manageable. Right to Work Laws simply allow companies to pay their employees less and give them fewer benefits. I have friends in Ohio who do the same job but are paid more because Ohio is not a Right to Work state. Indiana is already suffering economically and these types of laws merely make it more difficult for all of us to make an honest living. I demand our law makers revisit this law and take a hard look at how it is negatively impacting our State's financial situation.

New Mexico House Bill 206 would penalize victims of rape who choose to abort by charging them with a third-degree felony for "tampering with evidence". Third-degree felonies carry a term of up to three years in jail.

Yes, because this bill will restrict who we can send to the governor seat in Virginia. We need to have thing done decently and in order. We need to have our votes heard and not suppressed by a few. Apsolute power corrupts. We cannot have a fair government being controlled by one party. That is unconstitutional, if it is rigged to be done that way.

We cannot prevent crime, but we can reduce the number of injuries ans fatalities.
