Dear MoveOn.org Supporter: End the Prohibition of medically prescribed marijuana and also the using of marijuana recreationally. The only effect the "War On Drugs' has, as far as pot is concerned, is to keep an increasingly vicious group of drug criminals and their international banking cohorts, also criminals, in ridiculous wealth and power to corrupt the political systems of the world even more every day. People will get pot if they want it, just as they did alcoholic beverages 90 or 100 years ago, and all that money could be accruing to the US Treasury, from taxes and direct sales, where it is obviously direly needed (instead of wasting more money on a futile and humanly destructive additional war). This is the one federal policy area where I can not agree with the rationale of the President, whatever that is, because I have asked President Obama and his staff to let me know what the rationale could possibly be for so regressive a policy) in three letters, over the last six months, and I have had no response from anyone. I am a strong supporter of the President in most other areas, and he did answer me personally when, in previous months, I advocated his landslide reelection publicly. I still hope he will do so on this important issue as well. My personal involvement in this issue involves my father's glaucoma some years ago, I have also suggested, if he is generally against smoking for health reasons, that he allow marijuana consumption in the liquid form known as "cannabinol." Public attitudes are obviously changing, witness the surprising reversals in Colorado and Washington states, where marijuana was decriminalized even for recreational uses, as well as prescribed medical ones. It has recently come to our attention that the administration has rescinded the ability for January admits and transfers to pledge in their first semester at Hamilton College. January admits and transfers not only make up a large percentage of Hamilton's Greek Life, but are valued members of our societies. Please sign this petition if you are in favor of reversing the administration's policy change and believe January admits and transfers should have the right to pledge a fraternity or sorority with their classmates. The policy: "IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT JANUARY ADMITS: Keeping in line with our policy for other new students, pledging for new students entering in January (including transfers) cannot take place during their first semester. Yes, this is a change that now makes our policy consistent for all first-year students. Yes, because we have spring pledging it means that new Jans and Transfers will need to wait until their sophomore year (or third semester) to pledge. I hope you'll all agree that getting these students acclimated to their new curriculum and community is most important, and we should give them the appropriate amount of time to do that."

The quality of education at Bowling Green State University is at risk because the university administration has abruptly and arbitrarily decided to terminate the contracts of 100 full-time faculty. On January 18, 2013 the president of Bowling Green State University, Mary Ellen Mazey, announced that the administration would be eliminating 100 hard-working and dedicated non-tenure track faculty at the end of spring semester 2013. The decision was not based on the quality of the instructors’ teaching, and no plan was offered to redress the inevitable imbalance of faculty-to-student ratio. In his remarks to the Faculty Senate January 15th, BGSU Provost Rodney Rogers spoke approvingly of allowing class sizes to balloon from a normal enrollment of 30 students to 50 or more students. In September 2012, President Mary Ellen Mazey announced her intent to increase BGSU’s enrollment by 6,000 students by the year 2020. In spite of these plans for growth in enrollment, BGSU’s top administrators aim to significantly reduce the number of faculty. Clearly, the administration’s short-sighted and mismanaged plan portends a troubling future for BGSU students: bigger classes, fewer faculty, and lower educational quality. The BGSU administration has cited the need to save money in the face of impending cuts to state funding. In Ohio’s new formula for public universities, BGSU’s share of state money will fall, and the administration claims that it must take steps to keep costs low. Yet its plan to save money in the short term hurts BGSU in the long term—course completion and graduation will not improve with fewer faculty and increasing the number of students in classes. The value of a BGSU degree should not be compromised by careless plans that put short-term monetary savings ahead of long-term quality education. Plain and simple: Decreasing students’ interactions with faculty diminishes students’ educational experience. By signing this petition you are sending a clear and direct message to Dr. Mary Ellen Mazey, Dr. Rodney Rogers, and Mr. William J. Primrose III that you REJECT their plan. H. B. 80 is unfair taxation that will increase the annual ad valorem tax on pre-1986 vehicles. Many owners are car enthusiasts, often retirees on fixed incomes, with old hobby cars that are mostly driven to car shows or club events, so have little impact on traffic or wear and tear of roads. This proposed ad valorem tax increase is ONLY to Raise Money, not to cover any state costs, and it will affect many people who can least afford the increase. The only effective solution to gun violence in the United States is a new amendment. Gun control laws have been impotent in curbing the violence for three primary reasons; 1) interpretation of the constitution limits implementation. 2) well intended laws have been subverted by the gun advocates.

My Husband worked all of his Life except for when he was out of work due to accidents. Both of us are Disabled! Governor Christie took $209.0odollars out of my husband's $530.00 check when he got into office. Not only did this happen to us but to people receiving SSI to make his budget. A little old lady was standing in line at a Grocery Store where my spouse was at and her check was cut also. She almost was in tears she didn't know how she was going to make it.
