HEALTH CARE AND OUTSOURCING LOTTERY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY

We the people urge you to respect the Second Amendment of the United States of America and to stop trying to erode it little by little with a law here and there. Leave it alone. I feel that the Second Amendment has been weakened too much as it is and would like to see it strengthened by having any law to do with any firearm, sidearm, shotgun, machine gun or future weapon to supersede these weapons be repealed and made illegal to restrict now and in the future. There is no need for gun control any longer. It has proven to be ineffective and harmful to children. How many more people have to die before we realize that the Second Amendment could have saved us if we were only allow to exercise it. I am not asking you to repeal it or to touch the second amendment in any way. Its well written as is and speaks well for itself and its intentions are clear. I am asking you to recognize it for what it and protect it from threats to it foreign and domestic. Just like you said when you took the oath of office.

Everyone in this country is affected.

We the student have been attending the Medical Assistant Course here at UEI, and we are about to lose and recive another instructor for the remainding of our time here. With the time spent in the class not only did we learn and extreme amount of Medical Assistant material, we the students have grown and built a bond with Mr. Rosales. The students education should be your top priority and the re-locating Mr. Rosales to another class should be stopped.

I lived in ct for years and have friends in newtown. I am horrified that this has hapenned again.

We are a group of DC students who have an intense personal interest in reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act. We come from a variety of backgrounds--we are feminists, gay rights supporters, immigrant rights supporters, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, friends or family of survivors, and certified domestic violence advocates. We are united because we recognize that domestic violence is a serious problem that requires serious actions on our campuses and in this country.

As a former educator, I realize the impact and importance of early education. Children who are prepared for school excel from the start. I was able to pay for my children's early education. But, what about those who don't have funds for that or don't consider it important? Hawaii needs to improve their national rating of public education from #46 to #1. Please support early education for 4 year old Hawaii keiki.

SNAP provides financial assistance for purchasing food for no and low income people living in the U.S. Most drug convicted felons are unable to find employment and ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for SNAP based on thier backgrounds. This is highly discriminatory because MURDERERS, CHILD MOLESTERS, CHILD KILLERS, THIEVES AND BANK ROBBERS - ALL WHO ARE FELONS - can receive SNAP! HUNGER IS NOT A CRIME AND IT DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE! The PREDOMINANCE OF DRUG OFFENSE ARE PEOPLE OF COLOR, thus disproportionately affecting an already disenfranchised population. I believe that if you meet the POVERTY GUIDELINES - ANYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT.

The New Woman All Woman Center as of Jan 18,2013 have started procedures to try an reopen their doors . This is an abortion clinic that was shut down in 2012 for not complying with state law for safety & care. The Alabama Department of Health forced them to close and now the owner has turned over the rights for operation to new management.

It has been proposed that an extra mileage tax be assessed on newer more fuel efficient cars, to offset the declining revenues from gas taxes. That would be a sadly counterproductive measure, in terms of the bigger more important picture of protecting and cleaning up our environment. People who reduce their gas consumption, either through fewer miles driven, or more fuel efficient vehicles, should be rewarded for their contribution, not penalized.

Let's put visible, functional and aesthetically-pleasing solar panels on the south lawn of the White House! We have just four short years until a new President is sworn in, one who may not share our commitment to sustainable energy sources or honor our promise to respond to the threat of climate change! Please sign this petition, share it with everyone you know and then let's throw a big potluck in the park across the street to celebrate once our dream becomes a reality! :)
