Cuts for Senate, and Congress pensionsCongress insists to cut Social Security even though this is a program that is fully funded by us the people. Social Security does not affect the deficit because it is a program already paid for by taxing our wages. I do not deny that modifications have to be made to the collection of the Social Security Taxes, (increase the cap 110,000 and increase the rate of these taxes), but this modifications need to be separated from the negotiations for the Budget, since Social Security is already funded by us. If our Congress and Senate insist on modifying our Social Security I propose that they also make reductions, cuts and increase the age for their pensions. I think that would only be fair since they insist on making cuts to a program that has already been paid for.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kim DeMane

mental health evaluations required of all members of household in order to own a gunBecause of what happened in Newtown CT. There is talk of gun control. Hunters and gun advocates don't want to give up their right and I feel we should all be able to provide protection for ourselves and our family's. Since it's not the gun deciding who to kill it's the person holding it I think anyone that wants to own/carry a gun should have to have a mental health evaluation. Also a family therapy session maybe 3 sessions. You typically have to wait 3 days for a permit anyway.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ronda Anderson

Equip schools with Tasers as a backup plan to school lock down failureEnact a national policy to equip schools with non-lethal defensive measures, like Tasers or Taser like defenses. Such defenses are quick to deploy, low cost compared to other solutions, can remain in place as a fallback plan and will ensure students and staff are not accidentally injured or killed, as well as ensuring assailants survive to face justice.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John F. Abolish the policy that elected Washington officials retire at full pay with medical coverage. This effects everybody. We pay for their retirement benefits while we live on $1000-1600 when we retire. This bill was passed without our knowledge. No company, organization, or agency in the world has benefits like that, because no employer would permit it. WE THE PEOPLE are the employers of these elected officlals! Yet none of us got a say in this! We didn't vote for it; we didn't approve it. Let's end it!5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carole Spalino

Don't Weaken Social SecurityThere are reports in the press suggesting that President Obama may be willing to reduce future cost of living adjustments for Social Security recipients as part of a "fiscal cliff" deal. The fact of the matter is that even the present basis for calculating adjustments does not keep up with inflation because of the disproportionate contribution of health care costs to their total expenditures. Reducing future adjustments would only make things worse.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by K Metz
