Food or Meds if You cut Social Security or MedicareNext month I, as well as other baby boomers, will be 65. We have worked and paid into social security, and me personally since age 15. Due to illness I retired at age 62. But as far as myself and the rest go, if you reduce cost of living or cut money from Social Security or Medicare you put our health at risk. I personally take meds that have no generics. One med is $200 for 30 pills and another is $80. I have signed up for Plan D for meds and that costs $36 a month. Well, do I get my meds and not eat or do I eat and not get my meds. This is what you force me and the other baby boomers to ask. The health of seniors is at risk. We have worked and supported the system and surprise instead of help we are the first on the chopping block. Please reevaluate your policies and cut the waste. We are NOT the problem Boehner wants us to be. It is always the Rich want to stay Rich. They have excuses, we have health issues. More money taken from us is certainly not fair. If I heard right during the debates some 7 million dollars already was taken from Social Security or Medicare and I do not know what it was used for. I do not recall being asked if I wanted that money taken or used for something other than helping us in our Golden Years, which Boehner is tarnishing fast. The word entitlements means exactly that. We seniors ARE entitled because we paid into the system. Now when we are vulnerable as we age, our rights need to be protected just like the money WE ARE entitled to. ANY cut to social security or medicare puts us SENIORS at risk and should be stopped.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Penny Goldman

Stop Social Security cuts!!!!!!!For the millions of folks of the baby boomer era, such as myself, Obama is willing to send us to early suicides or homelessness by curtailing the cost of living interests to us at retirement. We need to STOP HIM from keeping this concession on the table, as MOST of us do not have SAVINGS or an IRA, or any OTHER monies to fall back on like when FDR started this program way back when. Please sign this petition as it is going to render most of us homeless. This is URGENT, my cost of living was going to go up 1 dollar this year from 874 to 875 per month as of January 1, 2013. None of us can live on this meager existence as the cost of everything from housing to utilities to food is going up. Please sign now!1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amanda St. John

STOP CUTS TO SOCIAL SECURITYI live on Social Security because my life savings was lost in the 2008 bank scandal. President Obama lied in his campaign promise to keep Social Security off the table in budget negotiations. What are we seniors to do? Eat cat food? Even that has become too expensive.462 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Mary Ellen Dias

Stop Social Security CutsMany people in the US depend on their social security check each month as their only source of income. A cut in social security could be devastating.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Fran German

Social Security cutsAs an 80 year old disabled woman, I am distressed to hear that you have offered to include Social Security cuts in your budget. I get less than $1,000 a month now -- I don't know how I could get by with any less! I had about $70k in savings, but when the economy went under, that amount was reduced by half. I have been supplementing the SS with small amounts of the savings, but now they are so depleted, I really need that $1,000 with prices so high! Stop proposed cuts to Social Security. Please let the White House and Majority Leader Reid know that cuts to Social Security benefits would be painful to retirees like so many of us who rely on SS for medicine, food, and daily necessities.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Judith Jaramillo

Reclassify the Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group, thus revoking their tax exempt status. While the antics of the Westboro Baptist Church have littered the media in recent years, it isn't until lately that these fanatics have truly hit bottom. The church has announced its plans to picket the funerals of the children killed in the recent Connecticut school shooting. While previous picketing of other funerals (including those of soldiers) have been distasteful to say the least, it is now that this group has surpassed the threshhold of attention grubbing zealots to an organization focused entriely on the perpetuation and advocation of hate.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nicholas Heguy
