I am 76 years old and I depend on these programs

The proposed 5 percent social security benefit cuts would have a direct impact on my current lifestyle as a retiree. I believe this would negatively impact most retirees as we are living on a fixed income, I strongly oppose any cuts to the social security and medicare benefits, and these proposed cuts should be stopped immediately.

McDonald's is twisting the arms of franchisees to be open Christmas day. I suggest a movement to call your local franchise and tell then you will eat there during the holidays only if they will close Christmas day (and eat there more if they also close early Christmas Eve). Not a religious matter for me. A matter of employees having the ability to chose what meets their needs.

Our country continues to witness horrific crimes of violence.The unthinkable is now our reality.How much more has to happen before people realize God should have never been taken out of our communities and schools? If Social Security is cut now or in years to come, I and many other seniors may be unable to afford food, shelter, transportation, health care, medicine and other essential needs. Not everybody has a pension.

The fiscal cliff is real. We must stop class warfare. I am willing to have reduced SS benefits, even though they are already small. Simplification of the tax system is a must. We must stop class warfare. And enormous resources are wasted on record-keeping, filling in forms, and calculating taxes -- that is, on lawyers, accountants, and other tax preparers and computer programs.

Congress and the President are trying to use Social Security to avoid the "cliff". At current rate it is solvent until 2032.

We just finished a presidential election in which President Obama made campaign visits to just eight states after being nominated, and Governor Romney to only 10. Two-thirds of the campaign visits this fall were to just four “key” states: Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and Iowa. 100% of the visits were to just 12 “key” states. Every voter should matter equally in presidential elections. Let's tell Congress to put forth an amendment to end the Electoral College.

I am differently abled, and get a small Social Security disability check which allows me not to have to live like an animal,or jump off a bridge or doing something stupid to try to sustain myself. Congress always targets the elderly, children and poor when cuts are needed. Time for Congress to look at their package of PERKS!

This petition is about States violating the Open Meetings Act.. I have not personally been affected, but friends of mine has been affected from this denial.
