Presently, Payroll contributions to Social Security is capped at 110k income annually.This makes no sense. All income levels should contribute, with a percentage of these additional funds earmaked for Medicare and Medicaid.

The 2nd Amendment equates possession and carry of a mere manufactured object, a piece of property, to rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Even real estate is more easily and highly regulated than guns in America. The existence of this amendment forces the living to accept the judgement of the long dead regarding firearms in society and strips us of the right to decided what is right for today's realities. Mere regulation of firearms is not enough to reign in this scurge that is litterally killing us as the courts have ruled against and political cowardice hinders all attempts at gun control. Repeal would not mean no guns just reasonable rules for private ownership. The 2nd Amendment is zombie law of the living dead and has no place in a modern, civilized society.

Gun owners and enthusiasts have every right to own their weapons. It's in the Consitution, after all. But that right, like all others in a civil society, comes with a cost. Which they should pay for. We do it with tobacco, it's time to do it with firearms. You want to play with guns? Then it's time you pay to play!

I'm so sick of going and applying for jobs and getting turned down because I have a felony on my background and or a backgroun d that wont clear a jobs standards.. Not all ex felons/ criminals continue down the same path. there are a lot of us that are trying to do right and make an honest buck. there has to be something done about all these jobs turning people like me down from employment. all I'm saying is stop reading a book by the cover and give people a chance to prove themselves.

A simple Power Point presentation to include the history of taxation in this counrty. How regardless of what percentile the wealthiest Americans paid in taxes they still made millions while the poor and middle class remained stagnant or got worse. A Power Point with simple addition and subtraction showing our GDP, probalbe income from taxes, money to be spent per the budget, the loop holes that allow millionaires and billionaires to pay taxes at a lower rate than the middle class. And please do not describe these people as job creators during the Power Point as that seems logical put has been proven not to be true.

Over the past decade, many Americans have seen their income fall, have lost jobs and have fallen into poverty. Meanwhile, the wealth of the top 2% has skyrocketed, thanks, in large part, to huge tax cuts. Republicans are trying to hold the middle class hostage during the fiscal negotiations in exchange for providing millionaires and billionaires with another tax break. Enough! It's time for the top 2% to pay their fair share so we can protect our social safety net. There is no "cliff" on December 31; the economy won't collapse overnight. Senator Lieberman has stated that he is willing to consider cuts to essential services such as social security/medicare/medicaid during the negotiations; and Senator Blumenthal has yet to make a firm commitment. This is unacceptable.

I am a volunteer Senior Peer Counselor with the Sonoma County Community-Family Services Agency. The seniors who we serve are barely making it on their social security allowance, now. To cut this would effect them harshly. We seniors don't need to be treated this way. PLEASE DON'T CUT SOCIAL SECURITY OR MEDICARE BENEFITS!!
