Social Security benefits have been reduced by 40% over the past 30 years. Every President has falsely claimed that it needs saving or it will go broke. Let's stop the lies right now. Social Security for people should be funded just like destructive wars, from the General Funds Account of the Treasury.

Those on Social Security certainly do not need a cut in benefits. Many now have to make a choice between food and medication. Why do we take from the poor and elderly in our society and not tax the wealthy appropriately. This should not even be up for discussion and should be off the table for any type of discussion.

I oppose any cuts to Social Security. My family totally relies on this income that I have paid into for years. I am sixty four years old and cannot affort any cuts whatsoever.

President Obama has offered the Republicans a compromise Social Security cuts deal that would cut Social Security benefits by more than 5% and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% of the wealthiest U.S. citizens. This means that people like me depending upon Social Security for survival would suffer critical cuts in benefits that provide food, medicines, and other essentials.

As a Senior Citizen on fixed income, I cannot afford to have Social Security and/or Medicare funds cut. Our schools need necessary funding in order to prepare our children for the future... These cuts will serously affect the children and the elderly. STOP THESE CUTS!

I depend on my Social Security benefits, and there are many more people like me. They say people are living longer so they could raise the age when benefits are received. The problem is, it is the wealthy who live longer, not the poor and middle class. Protect our safety net.

President Obama gave his word multiple times that cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid were off the table in negotiating with Republicans. Despite having the upper hand in negotiations, he has made an offer to John Boehner and the Republicans that is contrary to his repeated promises to the American people. Sign my petition to the President and ask him to be be accountable to his word, and also do what the majority of Americans wish him to do and NOT cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Our seniors deserve better than this. Cutting their benefits in order to protect the wealthiest among us is immoral. President Obama: YOU MUST KEEP YOUR PROMISES!

I am on Social Security Benefits. This program has been paid for by the people that worked for a lifetime and paid into the program year after year. It is not an entitlement program. The cost of living raises help to keep up with the increasing cost of living. The average benefit of 15K is poverty level. Please do not make life more difficult for us seniors.Leave Social Security alone.
