Judge Scalia has openly stated over and over again his contempt for GLBT issues, and has compared Marriage Equality to "murder." Enough is enough. This biased judge, who has made it clear that his biases are more important than the fairness of the law, should recuse himself NOW for any deliberations on DOMA and Prop 8.

“Pastor” Ernie Sanders is heard nightly over a nationally-syndicated program originating with WHKW in Cleveland in affiliation with Salem Communications. Neglected children of native tribes. We are direct children of enrolled tribal members who are discriminated against from our own people. And abandoned by the federal government by allowing the enrolled people of the tribes discriminate their own people as they press their grievances on a federal level. There are programs and benefits set a side for us but with out regulation from the B.I.A. They the enrolled tribal members with hold from us. We just want to know why only half of all tribes in America are considered native where as the direct family members born to a enrolled father is not enrolled or born to an enrolled mother are not enrolled are not considered native by there own people. And the government lets this blatant discrimination endure? Why do we get left out because of a rule the government created to divide an conquer our people? If Congress fails to reach agreement on the spending part of the so-called "fiscal cliff" negotiations by late February 2013, private universities such as Princeton, MIT, JHU, and others will face significant losses in federal research funding due to sequestration. This is a serious problem, for in fiscal year 2011, almost 75% of Princeton University's, 72% of Johns Hopkins Medicine's, and 71% of MIT's sponsored research funding came from government sources. Scientific research is the driving force behind today's technology-based economy; significant budget cuts to research institutions will affect everyone. For instance, scientific research at MIT has allowed for discoveries ranging from the first chemical synthesis of penicillin to an invention that duplicates the biological plant process of photosynthesis. Scientific research conducted at Johns Hopkins University has elucidated many cellular and biochemical mechanisms important for understanding human development and disease. Meanwhile, very recent scientific research at Princeton ranged from progress in particle physics, crucial to last summer's discovery of the long-sought Higgs boson at CERN, to finding a potential new chemotherapeutic approach for treating cancers. Most of this was possible to achieve through funding provided by federal agencies. Sequestration will have dire consequences for the future of scientific research at private institutions. Each American has been affected by mental illness either directly or indirectly. Our impact will soon be devastating if federal funds are cut and state funds are further cut.

I urge you to act now to prevent mandatory, across-the-board cuts to vital mental health research, services and supports from going into effect on January 2, 2013. Reductions of 8.4 percent to important programs funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Department of Education would have a devastating impact on people living with mental illness and other disabilities.
