• guns don't kill, people with guns do. banning guns is not the answer.
in light of this weeks shooting in connecticut, it's time to make sure guns do not fall in the hands of the irresponsible, and not blame those of us who take having a gun seriously. its time to enforce stricter gun control laws. banning guns for everyone only leaves them in the hands of the bad guys.

  • Mental Health system Reform
The current mental health system today is failing society. Mass killings at theaters, schools and office places are becoming increasingly more often. All , mentally ill people, who family knew was ill but was unable to get any help. When I was 16, my mother, who had Bipolar disorder, stood off with Police and ultimately was shot and killed. It's time to make a difference, keep them on the needed medications, give families the help they need to prevent such HORRIBLE tragedies.

  • KS State: Investigate the Abuse of Children Involved with Westboro Baptist Church
The Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group masquerading as a religious organization that forces their children to participate in virulent hate speech and brainwashes them into their culture of hatred. Fred Phelps, the pastor of the church, is accused of physical abuse by his own son—and the psychological trauma and abuse the current children of the church suffer is apparent. These children should be protected by the State of Kansas through an investigation into the safety of their home environments.

  • Gun Clubs As Solution To Managing Guns
Guns are not being managed. The guns that killed so many children belonged legally to the gunman's mother. The gunman's mother was the first to die. We've got to get guns out of the house and into the hands of gun clubs who can be required to lock them up and only allow use at the gun club. People would therefore would not be denied the right to own a gun but they could not have them on their person or anywhere but at a licensed, inspected, and controlled gun club.

  • Outlaw Guns
After so many people have lost their lives in the past weeks, it's time to take a stand and stop the people who are killing. The easiest way to do this is to outlaw guns for civilians. Don't let people get their hands on the weapons that have taken so many lives and caused so much grief.

  • Anti-gun violence
I am concerned where we are going as a country when anyone can take a gun into an elementary school, hospital, church, or shopping center and kill people. This happens every week in the U.S. Lets keep our country safe by regulating guns, banning assault weapons and handguns, and limiting ammunition sales.

  • President Obama: Use inaugural to advocate for a Constitutional amendment
It is the issue that underlies all others: money--particularly from corporations--is undermining our democracy. The Supreme Court, most infamously through the Citizens United ruling, has given corporations constitutional rights meant for individuals, leading to unlimited, anonymous spending on elections, and outsize corporate influence on government. "Over the longer term, I think we need to seriously consider mobilizing a constitutional amendment process to overturn Citizens United," wrote President Obama. "Even if the amendment process falls short, it can shine a spotlight of the super-PAC phenomenon and help apply pressure for change." January's inaugural address is an historic opportunity to galvanize support for an amendment--one that clearly states that We, the People of the United States of America move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.

The amendment that give U.S. citizens the right to bear arms in our Nation's constitution must be modified for the safety of innocent people. We had experienced an outbreak of senseless murders and mass murders throughout this country unprecedented within a decade , due to unstable and reckless people owning guns, rifles, and military type of weapons. These evil killings must stop!

  • Banning weapons of mass destruction: gun control laws
The U.S. has the largest number of mass deaths by individual rogue murderers in the western world. It is morally unconscionable for this nation to allow these weapons of mass destruction, which have most recently taken the lives of 20 elementary school children and 7 teachers.

  • Realistic Gun Laws
We sympathize with those who suffered a horrible loss in the recent wave of killings. However, we ask the public and politicians not be adversely effected by unbalanced individuals. It is those individuals that killed so many people – NOT THE FIREARM! A firearm is like a car. The only way a car can kill or injure someone is when it is being driven by an irresponsible individual. The only way a firearm can injure or kill, is if it used by an unbalanced individual or a criminal. We ask that President Obama not attempt to implement any unfair firearm laws. Good, honest, lawful individuals in the USA should be allowed to own firearms; just they are allowed to own vehicles.

  • Institute State Gun Licensing Similar to Auto Licensing
In our current political climate, the 2nd Amendment will not be repealed. However, the Supreme Court will likely not interfere if individual states apply licensing requirements similar to those required to operate a motor vehicle. Since individual states control gun licensing, I am asking my state to take up the matter, and institute a reasonable set of prerequisites for gun ownership.
