  • Bring Culture and Arts back to Schools
Dear Mr. President, In the recent years, the Arts have been eliminated from schools, as Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, and better test scores seem to be the primary focus. While parents are forced to work extra jobs, or have taken pay cuts; the elimination of these programs from schools due to budget cuts, have encouraged the children will grow up with limited creativity, innovation, and problem solving skills. The arts promote, develop, encourage, and provide a safe, exploring experience for children to practice skills that are vital to the rest of their education. Skills like science and math will be effected because of their difficulty in solving complex problems, as they will struggle with the ability to creatively think out the answers. The effect of the arts (i.e., dance, theater, music, art) on children cannot be denied or ignored. Without these programs both during school and after school, the child is subjected to limited activities, primarily video games (mostly promoting violence), and watching TV, (primarily action and violent shows.) Hours of this type of violence educates our children to become accustom and accept violence. There is too much violence being caused by teens and young adults. Children and teens need to become more involved in programs that demonstrate positive support and supervision, and encourage the children to think creatively. This should help them to pursue a life and develop into an adult who is bright, educated, innovative, and cultured.

  • The California Public Pension Reform act
State and Local Governments for years have been burdened with Defined Benefit Programs that are Actuarial unsound. These Golden Parachutes for Public Employees, have been and will continue to add hundreds of Billions of Dollars in Deficits to State and Local Governments. These costs guaranteed by the Tax Payers are Unsustainable in a Speculative Collapsing Economy .

  • Governor Malloy: Save Connecticut's School-Based Health Centers
The horror in Newtown, CT highlights the need for continued investment in school-based mental health services and supports. Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy plans to cut funding for our state's network of school-based health centers (SBHC's). Our children need access to mental health prevention and treatment services more than ever; in fact, there are about 90,000 K-12 students in Connecticut who cannot access desperately needed mental health services.

  • Term Limits
This country desperately needs term limits on all elected offices in our State and Federal Government. Elected officials should only be permitted to serve 2 consecutive terms and receive paid benefits for that period of time.

I would like Congress and every State to have a maximum amount of rent they can charge for rent . Every time minumum wage goes up or every year I lived in an apartment my rent has gone up five or ten dollars and it has also been raised to compare to minumum wage going up . ! This is GREED . ! I want to demand this to stop . ! To many people are on Section 8 waiting lists because they can not afford to pay rent . ! • HSBC Drug Criminals Should Do Time
People go to prison for possessing small quantities of marijuana. Why are bank criminals who enable murderers and terrorists let off with a small fine paid for by a criminal corporation? Is small time crime the only prosecutable offense in America any more?

  • Driving while black
A Black American may be driving in a neighborhood where White Americans live and a white policeman stops him feeling that he has no business being there. I understand that freedom allows a person to travel any where he wishes without driving while being black. I do not know why these racist policemen can feel that they can disrespect citizens the way they do especially when they have not broken any law? I may be driving a new Mercedes and wearing ragged jeans. This causes the cop to think that I have broken the law. The policeman needs to go some sensitive training all over this country especially in the southern areas of this country.
