My petition is not to take away the 2nd amendment but to do a background check on everybody who own guns yearly. A lot of things can happen to a person in a year. A yearly background check can help keep guns outta the hands of the wrong people. And it would help if they have a mentally unstable family member in the house hold that could cause a screen like the shooting in the elementary school that just recently happened. Please sign my petition. Like I said its not to take away the 2nd amendment but to help control the gun control.

In the wake of recent events, many people are calling out for tighter gun control. This does not solve the problem, because the problem is a failed mental health system that allows these disturbed individuals to roam free.Our leaders need to adress the cause, not the symptom.

Another senseless tragedy occurred yesterday because people are allowed to buy semi-automatic weapons with multiple rounds. I'm not saying people shouldn't have shotguns and rifles for hunting, but the death toll in these tragedies wouldn't be so high if we stop the sell of these weapons capable of killing so many so fast.

Acknowledging that all previous responses to school shootings have been miserable failures, we ask Congress and the President to take a new approach.

I want this to happen because guns are always going to be dangerous, so I want to keep them as safe as possible. I am doing this because On the Day ofFriday, December 14th, 2012, a crazed man for no reason whatsoever killed 20 Elementary students and a few teachers. Again, he did this for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON!

Second Amendment reevaluation!

The violence we are seeing on our streets and our schools has got to STOP. We need to teach the Biblical foundation of morality so people grow up to value human life.

If the Second Amendment falls, the remainder of the foundations of this Republic will fall with it. The Second Amendment, followed by the First Amendment, are the pillars of this great Nation.

My son Felipe attends Bronx High School of Science. Our children are innocent and they need to be protected. Gun Control Now!!

As a responsible gun owner, I feel that all of us who own guns do have a responsibility to maintain and secure our weapons.

In light of the recent horrific events in Connecticut, the time to act to regulate guns is now. Here is an idea that people on any side of the argument should have no problem supporting. 1. People who own guns should be required to carry insurance in case the weapon is used to murder or maim anyone - by themselves or someone else. The insurance would be used to cover their medical bills and funeral costs as well as pain and suffering. We are all required to carry auto insurance. If someone is at fault in an accident, the other person's medical bills are covered. 2. Those who sell guns and ammunition should be required to ensure the person has insurance and a license for the ammunition and the weapon. If not, the seller should be liable.

We need to stop this school shootings. I feel that mental illness in teens and young adolescents goes untreated. Parents, family members and friends of mentally ill or suffering children need to be educated on their behaviors and what to look for.
