We need solutions to stop these ever-increasing mass shootings. The news media provides glorification to these cowardly murderers, and it profits on the death of our fellow citizens and children. It must stop, NOW!

We need to stop the slaughter of innocent people and the trauma that goes with these events. The only way to to this is to send messages to the government and the NRA that we gun control that is more strict. Please sign this petition and forward it.

There has been an obvious link to the mental health issue of young adults, particularly males ages teens to early twenties, and the escalating number of horrific, violent incidents currently in outbreak in our country. We must take serious and diligent stock of this crisis now, before any more lives are lost.

There is an epidemic of mass murders. Our prisons are overflowing with mentally ill patients. The number of mentally ill patients that are homeless is staggering. We have to do a lot more. But this is one politically acceptable solution that could be approved soon. This is a first step, a step you could take in the presence of a highly divided political environment.

Michigan has been turned into a RTW state by a lame duck congress. We want President Obama to stand with his supporters, the Michigan working class, and refuse permits for Governor Snyders International Bridge.

A simple Democratic majority in the Senate has the power to change Senate rules to require an actual stand up and talk filibuster of Senate actions in place of the current "I will block" motions that allow the Rebublican minority to prevent the Senate from getting much done. This change can only be made on the first day of the new session, January 3rd, 2013. Why should we be ruled by the minority?

Subsidies going to the largest, most successful landowners and farm operators in America, while taxpayers stand to lose their benefits.

We CAN have sensible gun control WITHOUT impinging on the Second Amendment. We have limited the First Amendment with common sense; You can't shout FIRE in a crowded theatre. We can do the same for the Right to Bare Arms. Having the Right to Bare Arms comes with a HUGE responsibility and should be treated that way. A gun is a dangerous lethal weapon and we have less regulation of guns than we do of cars and who can drive them. That is crazy! Heavy, strict regulation of guns DOES NOT limit the rights of citizens who are of sound mind, legal age, and non-criminal background to bare arms. It preserves the Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness for the majority of citizens in our United States. No one should be gunned down by a mentally unstable person, a criminal or child in possession of a dangerous firearm. We can make sensible laws to prevent mass murders and other gun violence without violating our Second Amendment.

This week we all grieve as a nation for the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook Massacre that took place this week. We cannot make sense of this tragic loss of life. President Obama, you have called for meaningful action to prevent tragedies such as this, and I agree wholeheartedly. While gun control is an issue that should be addressed in due time, the more pressing issue is the paucity of access to adequate healthcare for the mentally ill.
