As President Obama so rightly observed in his talk at the Memorial Service in Newtown, CT on 12/16/12, "we have to do better" in protecting our children and others from mindless violence. We who sign here are ready and willing to do our part. Call on us.

END THE VIOLANCE,GET RID OF THE ASSAULT WEAPONS.

In order to rebuild our country's infrastructure, re-evaluate our taxpayer spending priorities, and reduce the deficit, let's start with the billions of taxpayer dollars now being spent on waging wars abroad.

Gun control to cut down on senseless violence. Everybody has been affected by this tragedy. How can we protect our children when evil people can get guns so easily. I am a retired teacher and I know how little ones get scared with a clap of thunder. Or loud noise what must these little have endured with this ordeal.

In thoughtful and compassionate response to the tragedy of the shootings in New Town, CT, and the many other shootings that have happened in recent years, we need to address the lack of effective and long-term services for those among us who are experiencing mental illness.

In light of recent tragedies, It's obvious that Anti-Abortion is not synonymous with Pro-Life.The same hypocrites who label themselves with such titles favor possession of assault rifles in inner cities and drastically reduce health care specifically Mental Health Care.So it's time for the media to start labeling them as such until they live up to their titles.  I have a colleague who's sister was killed by a mental health candidate and an alum killed by a person who sought mental health treatment only to be denied. How many more tragedies must occur?     It's time to petition,march ,riot for mental health care as a basic right for American citizens and a civil right. Stop being observers and participate in making our lives as humans productive to our communities, our nation, and our world.It must start with you. This is the time ....Peace Be With You.

We would like to have a security person at each school entrance for the duration of the school day with a metal detecting wand or device to ensure no one with concealed weapons can gain entry to the main office of any school in the district.

Let's start stop the debate about what's the 2nd amendment means today and repeal it. Then we could begin to regulate guns as a privilege rather than a right.

Years ago it used to be "fashionable" to wear fur. For years animal enthusiasts have been "up in arms" over the kiling of animals for clothing and wearing fur is not just out of style, but frowned upon and stores selling real fur are few and far between. Yet, the mom of the killer of the children in Connecticutt was a "gun enthusiast", which is where the killer got his guns and no one bats an eye. How many children and adults need to die before being a gun enthusiast goes out of style??? How long before we stop accepting gun love and acknowledge guns for what they are, killers of our fellow human beings? How long before we are as unaccepting of collecting guns as we are of wearing a fur coat. Its time we put our children in as high priority as seals and fox and minks and stop accepting this violence as a way of life.

Allowing qualified CWP holders to carry a gun on school grounds.

I was sitting in a hotel lobby, surrounded by a TV screens. Half showed the horrendous events of the CT shooting, while the other half had a crime show with an equal amount of carnage. I'm incredulous, that networks and broadcasters are allowed to make their money by promoting violence for "entertainment" each and every hour of the day.

We need to control the spread of guns and easy access to automatic weapons. Given that there is really no justification for an average person to own and use a military grade weapon and the fact that such weapons continue to be used in tragedies such as the Connecticut massacre, we need to change the Constitution now before it destroys more lives.
