Please encourage President Barack Obama to pass a Federal law requiring Armed guards at every educational institution . The federal court buildings have Armed guards. It is time to protect our children's lives to the same degree. Every child's life is just as precious as the employees of the court system. Please help prevent another tragedy like this from occurring. I can never understand the pain and suffering each parent or loved one effected by this tragedy feels and I am sure if you could prevent this you would. Only a second of your time signing this can make a change to protect our loved ones.

The "fiscal cliff" is actually, a "fiscal slope". Without a deal, the Bush tax cuts expire and the upper 2% will have to again pay income taxes. The senate can then introduce a bill that reinstates the cuts to the middle class. Republicans will have to help pass that bill to avoid further jeopardizing their future elections.

Over 30,000 people died last year in the United States from handguns alone. Now we have lost twenty more school children. Little kids. As long as the Second Amendment stands in the way, we will continue down the path toward violence and eventually, anarchy. This petition does not impose gun controls or advocate taking away anyone's guns. It does take away the present unabridged right to own and use guns. -Every church will have to pay 10% in taxes every year. -All churches will be checked for their status as "non-profit" organizations. If found guilty of money laundering, the tax rate would be 70%. -A higher property tax for churches that can house 10,000 people.

The Newtown Elementary school shooting of Dec 14, 2012 has resulted in 27 deaths, including 20 children, six adults and the shooter. The parents that lost their children today lost them not in small part because of the sick and twisted propaganda machine backed by weapon profiteers who cling to the 2nd amendment as an excuse to justify and perpetrate their deceiving practices. The 2nd amendment was meant to provide citizens with a means to protect themselves from a tyrannical government 200 years ago, not from their neighbors, and not as a means to protect the ability to allow mentally ill and violent criminals to kill off our children. The 2nd amendment is outdated, misused and dangerous. We need to amend the Constitution and delete the second amendment NOW. We owe it to the many who died today, the many more who die every year, and to our own children and communities.

Today, 12/14/12, 20 elementary school children were shot. In the classroom. Where they were supposed to be safe. As the nation mourns, we must ask ourselves one thing... what if it were my son? Republicans that have not worked for the people of our country for 12 years. The middle class needs to remain without more added burden for the sake of the wealthy 2%.

Sandy Hook elementary, the Oregon Mall shooting, Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting, Aura Colorado movie theatre, Virginia Tech, the list goes on and on, how many innocent people have to die before we change the gun control laws to protect these victims?

At every new tragedy where assault weapons are used, we clamor that "something should be done". Let's take the initiative on gun licensing and registration norms, and not let the NRA impose the ideology of fear on us.

The reason our country doesn't have reasonable and effective gun control laws is because the National Rifle Association is a major political contributor. We can't ban the NRA or defund it, but politicians can say "no" to taking their money. Candidates and politicians who do accept money from the NRA should be called on it both before and after they are elected. It's the only way to take our country back from those who prioritize the size of their arsenals over the murders of thousands of Americans every year.

The news is flooded, today and other days, with news of school shootings and violence. While many want to know the relevant facts, the practice of interviewing children on camera is unethical and lacking in integrity. These interviews are re-traumatizing and exploitative of children for purposes of "entertainment". Urge the news media, both local and national, to stop this practice of interviewing children at crime scenes.
