  • Reform the welfare system
Welfare and food stamps' intentions when first introduced were to help those less fortunate stay afloat and get back on their feet. That's how it should remain, and abuse of the system needs to be stopped. Congress needs to enact legislation that will prevent abuse of welfare money and get those who do not need it off it. In addition, a specified list of "approved" foods needs to be enforced as to curb those who abuse food stamps and buy items that are not "necessities."

The government is has been spraying our skies with aluminum and barium particles for the last six years. The reason they give for doing this is to reflect the sun away from the earth to help with global warming. But the aluminum is toxic and what goes up must come down. It lands on our soil and in our water. Metals lower immunity and cause cancer. See the free YouTube documentary, What in the World are They Spraying for more information.

  • End the endless campaigning for office
It is, in my mind, ridiculous that we are paying elected officials to campaign through a significant portion of their term in office. I believe that the length of time that campaigns by incumbents and all other office seekers can be run should be severely limited by law to a reasonable period of 4 months or less.

  • Real Income & Sales Taxes
No matter where you live in the U.S., you're invited to sign this petition. ... More and more, the tax burden has been falling to those of us who have to work for a living, and less and less on those who make money on money. The time has not only come, it's long overdue, to tax income from speculative short-term investments, interest and dividends at the same rates as taxes on income from wages & salaries, and to apply a sales tax to all purchases, including stocks, derivatives, currency exchanges, etc., and not just the purchases of lower- and middle-class consumers. ... Wtih your help, we will forward all Vermont signatures to pur state legislature and the governor, and everyone's signature to the Congress and the President. ... Stand up for fair taxes for those who work to earn a living.

  • Green fracking law
The fracking process used in oil and gas drilling is causing numerous and varied proposed regulations from all levels of government in Colorado. Since fracking is unlikely to be eliminated, a Colorado state law that it should only be done with non-toxic, biodegradable chemicals seems easier and appropriate.

  • Restore True Democracy
It should be important to all Americans, regardless of political persuasion, that our elected officials in Congress and the White House be free and unencumbered, in order to base decisions on what is best for our country and all of it's people, rather than monied special interests. We simply cannot continue with 2 year long campaigns and a situation where a single individual can contribute tens or hundreds of millions of unaccounted for dollars to a campaign, and expect a true democracy to survive.
