• Support Susan Rice For Secretary of State
This petition is about standing up to the misinformation republicans have been directing at Susan Rice on the eve of her being appointed to Secretary of State. By signing this petition we will send a strong message to these republicans that we will not stand for their groundless obstructionist ways.

  • How to help 1 in 4 homeowners at no cost to the taxpayer
It has been 4 years since the financial crisis but more than 25% of mortgages in the U.S. are underwater. It is hard to be optimistic when your home and largest asset is worth less than its loan amount. Today's historically low interest rates would be a godsend for me and millions like me if only we could refinance. The FHA has a streamlined program that allows its nondeliquent borrowers to refinance anytime they choose. Congress should mandate to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that a program like this be offered to all its homeowners who are underwater.

  • Outrageous Water Bills in Baltimore City ; and forced foreclosure due to low ( as low as $ 250.00...
This petition is about unfair water bills in Baltimore and the law that allows the City of Baltimore to foreclose on a home for as little as a $250.00 outstanding water bill. I am a homeowner who occupies a single dwelling home in the city of Baltimore. I am being billed for an average daily consumption of 276 gallons. There are two people currently living in my home, my daughter and I; my grand-daughter is away in school, there are no leaks on my property. I had to pay a $1,500.00 water bill a few years ago at that time I had plumbing replaced from the street leading into my home. The plumbers informed me that the problem was not due to the street to house plumbing. City water is also used by county residents, however they do not have to pay for the use of city water. In closure; I do not operate a business that I would be expected to consume 276 gallons of water per day. If county residents utilize city water they should pay for the portions used by them, and last but not least homeowners living in Baltimore pay enormous water bills but we have continued water main breaks due to neglect of the upkeep of our water structure. I question where and how the money is spent from our bill payments?

  • HR 2471: SAY NO TO LEAHY AMENDMENT
HR 2471 will give Homeland Security, the FBI and 20 other agencies greater powers, granting them full access to Internet accounts without first obtaining a Court Order. The original Leahy bill was legislation that “provides enhanced privacy protections for American consumers by . . . requiring that the government obtain a search warrant.”, amended at the request of Law enforcement.

  • Paying for Democracy and a Just Society
Democrats have allowed Republicans to gain the initiative and to control the national narrative by asserting that a progressive tax system kills jobs. Democrats have not challenging that narrative or pointed out the cost to our social fabric by creating a plutocracy of the 1 percent. A progressive tax system is the foundation of any just society. If you want the government off of your back, go to a third world country where there are not roads, police, infrastructure or rule of law.

  • Supervisor of Elections..Duval County
A couple weeks ago, I visited our Supervisor of Election's office. At this time, declared my intentions to run for Congress in 2014. I was given two, not so user friendly, web sites, instead of the necessary filing forms, which you'd think, they would cheerfully provide. Another thing they provided was, the Supervisor of Elections email address. I've emailed Mr Holland twice, the heading for this email included, my Arab-American name. All those in the political circles here know, HAZOURI stands for progressive, growth and!,democracy! Is my email being ignored purposely?

  • Federal elections need to be non-partisan
In state after state, elected partisan secretaries of state directly control elections in a partisan manner. Fewer voting machines are provided to areas where the opposition party is strong than to areas dominated by the party in power. These partisan secretaries of state use their position to suppress votes and disenfranchise voters.
