I believe that we as citizens of this great country should put our collective feet in the middle of the legislators posteriors and push until they discontinue this practice of treating the American Public like mushrooms.

  • Add your voice in support of the free and open Internet
The Internet empowers everyone — anyone can speak, create, learn, and share. It is controlled by no one — no single organization, individual, or government. It connects the world. Today, more than two billion people are online — about a third of the planet. But not all governments support the free and open Internet. There is a growing backlash on Internet freedom. Forty-two countries filter and censor content. In just the last two years, governments have enacted 19 new laws threatening online free expression. Some of these governments are trying to use a closed-door meeting in December to regulate the Internet. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is bringing together regulators from around the world to re-negotiate a decades-old communications treaty. Proposed changes to the treaty could increase censorship and threaten innovation. Some proposals could permit governments to censor legitimate speech — or even allow them to cut off Internet access. Other proposals would require services like YouTube, Facebook, and Skype to pay new tolls in order to reach people across borders. This could limit access to information — particularly in emerging markets. People around the world are standing up for freedom. Users, experts and organizations from around the world have voiced their opposition to governments regulating the Internet through the ITU.

  • No "No Tax Hike" Pledge
A Washington lobbyist, Grover Norquist, not elected to anything, has been pushing a pledge, for years, that hogties congress people's ability to act on their own. They take an oath on entering congress, and should not be pressured to sign any other sort of pledge, or oath.

  • City County Council
The prosecutor's office is a public office. It is housed in a privately owned building. The owner of the building prevents us from rallying at the prosecutor's office. This means a private citizen prevented the public from having access to a public office. We are asking the city county council to move the prosecutor's office to a building where the public has access.

  • Derry Lemark Rembert, Jr
My son on June 15, 2008 experienced a fatal gun-fire in the city of Detroit. The Detroit Police department transported Derry in a police car to the Sinai Hospital. The Crime Victim Assistance Program distributed funds to an individual or group stating they paid for Derry's funeral expenses. The state of Michigan released a check to someone other than the parent or the undertaker in charge. The homicide case is stilling under investigation. The hospital perform surgery on a dead body.

  • VETO NYC COUNCIL LINES
The Redistricting process for the New York City Council has been nakedly political gerrymandering. Under the auspices of an independent commission, the Council has implemented a bold incumbent protection program that has disenfranchised Latino/as and helped disgraced sexual abuser Vito Lopez and the people who support him. We call on the Speaker to hold a vote of the City Council to veto these lines before they take effect on Thursday, December 6th.
