• Las Vegas Downtown: Make Peace Sculpture & Park
We are petitioning to have the city of Las Vegas, Nevada to build a MAKE PEACE sculpture and make peace park as a NEW, powerful and positive image building effort, which is already taking place with Zappos & Burning Man Art projects in Las Vegas' new downtown. Considering the over 45 empty lots now available downtown, this project is a necessary next step in building a solid business community and live-able city. We need much more than 50 people to sign , 1000 or more signers are truly needed but I am unable to reset the number. Thank you, Mathew

  • national day to vote
Every american should have the right to vote on election day.It is not fair that middle income and lower income people are usually the ones that find it harder to take time out of there work schedules to get to the polls. There must be reform in this area.Whether it is a weekend day or a regular work day,the goverment can and should prvide an oppurtunity for every eligble american voter to take the neccesary time out to vote.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
My son and his friend were killed by a neighbor who is claiming "Post-Tramatic stress disorder" due to being a veteran. My son's neighbor was also shot 11 times but survived. I believe anyone Who claims to have Post-Tramatic Stess Disorder should not be allowed to have possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapons. I feel it should be mandatory for them to see a psychiatrist at least once a month for evaluation. I believe too many people are claiming to have PTSD in order to get government funding. As a mother of my deceased son Gary Hembree, a friend of deceased Roger Picior and friend of Bruce Blake, all from Titusville, FLorida, I would like to see a Bill passed to prevent an incident like this from happening to any other person again. I believe if "Billy Woodward" had been evaluated monthly, these men would be alive today, and the one who lived would not have gone through multiple surgeries and spent over a month in a medical facility. • Remove Rep. Paul Broun from House Committee on Science
Rep. Paul Broun states that the science of evolution is a "lie from the pit of hell," and that the Bible should run "all our public policy and everything in society."

  • Save Big Bird and Big Bird's Home: PBS
Big Bird has been a part of our lives for years and has brought goodness and common sense to American Television. PBS provides the best, most thoughtful and relevant programs to all the American public--whether it be for pre=schoolers, teens, or seniors. It would be an insult to Americans to think that Big Bird and Big Bird's Family at PBS would not be funded by the budget.

  • Emergency Manger Appointments; cities/schools
It appears that this Republican led effort is targeting urban minority areas and effectively eliminates the rights of citizens who have voted and elected officials to mange the cities and or schools. Although one may questions the capabilities of the elected officers, NO ONE should be able to remove them from the authority that was given to them by the vote of the people.

  • False Ads - You Don't Know WHO to Vote for?
Because of the consistent False TV, radio, etc. advertizement of the candidates, the voter is really blind to who to vote for. A LARGE $$$$$ penalty should be given for any and all false advertizement. I'm frustrated with the lies.

  • I'm Voting Yes on Amendment 65
Is This What Democracy Looks Like? In 9 out of 10 congressional elections, the candidate who spends the most money wins. Nearly $20 million in political ads have been purchased on Denver’s top 4 stations. That buys 18,956 ads; at 30 seconds each, it would take 158 hours to watch them all. Of the $230 million raised by Super PACs from individuals in the first two quarters of the 2012 election cycle, more than half (57.1%) came from just 47 people giving at least $1 million. Just over 1,000 donors giving $10,000 or more were responsible for 94% of this fundraising. We CAN Get Big Money out of Politics. We can correct the errors of the Citizens United ruling by passing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution authorizing limits on campaign contributions and spending that ensure that all of us, regardless of wealth, have an equal voice in our democracy. www.VoteYeson65.org
