• Let's make a real change
I think it's time to get rid of both party's and start electing people who would represent the people, then we could get the crooks out of Washington. Theirs nothing wrong with are constitution it's the party's that are taken all this money from the crooks that want to buy this country. Let's see how many people sign this to make the change, then we can open up the talks.

  • there is no such thing as clean, carbon neutral coal.
I live in West Virginia and my states elected officials are constantly pandering to the citizens against the EPA about clean coal technologies, this just isn't true. My states people have to know the truth and consequences facing our people. The mine owners need to be held resposible for their waste instead of passing the blame.

  • Term limits
We need to consider term limits for the Presidency to make his one term more effective. There is too much important time wasted on campaigning for a second term and too little time to implement important changes.

  • End 60% Rule in Senate
Part of the stalemate in congress, the Senate in this case, arises because we have a rule that we need 60% support before we even take up a bill. That is a ludicras requirement. It affects discussion of bills and limits compromises.

  • One Million Carbon Neutral Car Buyers
This petition is really an old-school boycott, masking as a pledge: let's get one million U.S. consumers to pledge not to buy a new car until they are able to buy an affordable, U.S. built car that is carbon neutral.

  • Shame on Mitt Romney for attacking deferred action
Gov. Mitt Romney promised to veto the DREAM Act, advocates "self-deportation" and calls Arizona a "model for the nation." Now, campaign officials have confirmed that Romney would also try to end the new, popular Obama Administration deferred action program that grants temporary work permits and protection from deportation to young immigrants who would have qualified for the DREAM Act.

  • Stop Courts from Sending Violent Criminals to Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings.
Demand Judges and Lawyers stop sending violent criminals to Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings as part of a plea bargain sentencing. This must stop. Eric Allen Earle allegedly strangled to death his girlfriend Karla Brada of Santa Clarita, California, on August 31, 2011, and it was later discovered that Brada's AA sponsor hid evidence of her abuse from Earle. Kristine and Saundra Cass (Kristine's 13 year old daughter) were brutally murdered by Clayborne Conley whom Kristine met in an AA meeting. Conley was court ordered to AA by a Judge and Mental Health professionals. Every citizen and every AA/NA member have the right to know this is frequently practiced by the hundreds daily and that the Courts need to find somewhere else to send sex offenders and violent offenders when they commit a crime. Send them to jail. Offer them help inside prison where they can not murder innocent women like Karla Brada, Kristine and Saundra Cass. Make meetings available for only violent offenders in the courthouses and prisons separate from regular 12 Step meetings. Another example is the slaying of 80 year old Nancy Daily, who was killed in her Royal Oak home, her hands bound and her throat slit. In addition, in Oregon, a man met a woman through a Narcotics Anonymous meeting and invited her to his place where he attacked the victim and was charged with kidnapping and rape with a deadly weapon.

  • Rollin Richmond: Endorse Proposition 37
Rollin Richmond, the President of Humboldt State University, has spoken out against Proposition 37, The California Right To Know Genetically Engineered Foods Act. He has said that "opposition to GMOs is anti-science," and describes our efforts to label GMOs as “similar to efforts of unthinking religious people to ban stem cell research." Does this describe your stance on Labeling GMOs? Tell him how you feel! The deadline to sign on to this petition is October 15th. Humboldt Label GMOs Group will be marching from the Arcata Plaza to HSU on October 16th to hand-deliver this petition asking Mr. Richmond to change his position and stand up for our right to know if we are eating GMOs. If you would like to join us, please gather with signs and smiles at the Arcata Plaza at 11:45 pm. The march will start promptly at noon. If you are on Facebook, we love RSVP's! https://www.facebook.com/events/162829630508096/
