At this time the government of Illinois have begun negotiations with the oil and gas industry to allow horizontal hydraulic fracking in southern Illinois. Hundreds of towns, counties and even states have banned fracking due to the impact of hundreds of deadly chemicals penetrating the water, air and soil of areas in which fracking occurs. Research has linked fracking to many human and animal cancers and illnesses. Fracking is a direct attack on the health and well being of the people and environment of southern Illinois by big industry. Please help support this local people's struggle.

American public still wants to know more about Gov Romney's tax returns. He may be as much a criminal as our governor Rick Scott was---and he got elected.

Here in Michigan, if you are a retiree in the public school or other public service jobs, the fund for health care has chosen to not accept the terms of the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare. This means our adult children cannot be insured up to age 26 unless they are full time students and are claimed on our Federal Tax 1040's. I want the retiree system to adopt the Affordable Care Act. If it is fair for Americans, it should be fair for all of us public employees also.

With 47 people in 7 states getting meningitis from fungus growing in steroids produced in non-FDA supervised pharmacy labs, it is time for the FDA to take over supervision of those compound-producing laboratories. Add your voice to encourage the FDA to protect us from bad drugs.

In Europe, vehicles get up to 78 mpg (Imperial Gallon.)...that's about 65 mpg US gallons. Ford exports vehicles to Europe with that type of fuel economy. VW imports to the US are currently not allowed to get 65mpg. This affects all of our citizens. Big oil has been in control too long.

Approx 8,600 people per year are killed in crashes with unlicensed drivers. The government passes down punishment but does nothing to prevent it.

Todd "legitimate rape" Akin made his outrageous remarks just over a month ago. At the time, everyone, Republicans and Democrats alike, was scandalized. McConnell, Boehner, Romney and RNC chairman Prebus called for him to relinquish his candidacy and said he would get no more support. Now that the deadline for withdrawal has passed, not so much. Akin is back in the fold. It is apparent that all standards of character are disregarded when a Republican seat is at stake.

Representative Paul Broun (R-Georgia) is part of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology -- and he shouldn't be. In recorded remarks on September 27th, Mr. Broun said "evolution and embryology and Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell." It's wrong for someone who rejects the very existence of scientific truths this fundamental to have any say at all on a committee whose focus is science and technology. And he shouldn't be subjected to all of that terrible diabolical science if it so opposes his views. Sot

Our tax code today says an Investor's income is so critical to the US Economic Engine that, after appropriate taxes, 85% should be left for the Investor. To do with as they please and which can be re-invested, saved or spent inside or outside our country; each of these with a completely different economic impact. But whatever they choose, through the tax code, we are saying that giving the Investor greater control of their $1 is a benefit to everyone and in the end becomes an economic "tide that will lift all boats". For Wage Income, since it has much less benefit to society, we only allow the Wage Earner to keep 64% of their income. This petition isn't necessarily about how I have been affected, more how our society unfairly treats Wage Income compared with Investment Income. I think it is time to take a stand against one of the most unequal aspects of our tax code. With this petition I hope to start a conversation that leads to a wider understanding and eventually to change. I submit this on behalf of anyone who's income comes from wages.
