  • No car parking charges for Portishead Lake grounds
North Somerset Council have just approved the introduction of parking meters in W-s-M town centre. It is now very likely that they will also look at parking charges for other areas including Portishead Lake Grounds. Currently customers, staff, and volunteers can park within walking distance of Portishead Open Air Pool and stay all day if they wish. The significant extra cost of parking will lose us customers and the volunteers needed to run the pool. If you care about this wonderful facility, which so many local people fought to save from closure four years ago, we urge you to sign our petition to ask NSC not to introduce parking charges to the lake grounds.

  • Block the Senate Passage of Pathway to Job Creation through a Simpler, Fairer Tax Code Act of 2012
This bill puts in place the same tenets that Romney espouses which would cut taxes for the rich, increase taxes to the poor. It also cuts out all the credits that lower-income individuals and small businesses enjoy. THIS SHOULD NOT PASS! http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/112-2012/h552 http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/publications/url.cfm?ID=1001628 http://taxfoundation.org/article/taxing-more-taking-less-how-broadening-federal-tax-base-can-reduce-income-tax-rates

  • Voting regestration.
The voter registration should not be used this year. From the information I have read & heard, the ability to adequately is to obtain a photo id. Since this development, many must obtain a birth certificate for the process. MAKE sure EVERYONE knows this information. 6 months is not enough time. It has also been brought to the attention of the courts no fraud has ever been recorded in PA so what is the hurry to do this before a presidential election. Invalidate this id requirement as unconstitutional.

  • Just say no to Voter ID compliance
The basic right to vote in Pennsylvania has been taken from us by a ridiculous requirement to show an "official" ID This was never necessary to do in previous history, and no such case of voter fraud in our state has been found to warrant this. This law only makes it hard for those who want to exercise a constitutional right. These same people are those who have the least access to the requirements expected by it.

  • Just Say No to enforcing the new Voter ID law
Voter suppression in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania should not stand. Voting is the first right in a democracy, and stopping people from exercising that right should not be used as political tool by one party or the other. The more citizens that vote, the better it is for the country, and anything that diminishes that right needs to be fought tooth and nail.

  • Judges in Dallas Courts Take Delinquency Punishment Too Lightly.
Delinquency in the city of Dallas, Texas is getting more severe as we let it. Judges in Dallas should take delinquency punishments more severely. Delinquents are finding it easier to break the law as they don't see a punishment too serious. There has not only been two robberies in my restaurant in the same week, my son was also assassinated recently at only 19 years old. Officers in Dallas took care of both situations only to find the judges in Dallas Courts give, what I believe is a minor punishment.

  • drivers license ID voters law
too many people will be affected by this law that do not drive & do not require a driving license, many of them are either invalid or poor or can only get out to vote if someone brings them to a polling booth, old people have enough to contend with trying to survive and this law is obviously political in nature and will deprive many thousands of their constituional rights .please join me in opposing this law by signing this petion.Matt Jeffery Sciota PA

  • Just Say "No" To PA Voter ID Law
State Representative Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) told the Republican State Committee on June 23, 2012, that Pennsylvania's new voter ID law would "allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania." He as much as admitted it will turn away eligible voters—mostly the poor, elderly and women—who traditionally vote Democratic. However, one thing it will not do—what supporters originally proposed at the law's inception—is prevent voter fraud. State attorneys defending the new voter ID law at a hearing will present no evidence that in-person electoral fraud is likely to occur this November without the law, according to a court document. The state and the parties challenging both agree in the court document that neither side knows of cases of in-person voter fraud in Pennsylvania. However, the new law could prevent up to 758,000 registered Pennsylvanians from voting! Our problem in this country is low voter turn out, not people voting multiple times! This is a violation of our civil rights and must be stopped.
