Keep Daylight Savings Time the standard in CaliforniaWhen we revert to standard PST in fall, it starts to get dark before 5 p.m. The days are already shortened as a function of the seasonal shortening of the days. Let's not shorten even further by turning the clocks back in fall.386 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Pat Brotman

Stand Up for Democracy in MichiganRight-wing elements in the state government have been working for months trying to hijack democracy in Michigan and prevent people from voting on repealing PA 4 aka the emergency manager dictator law. Nearly a quarter million voters signed the petition, the state supreme court ordered it on the ballot and now the right-wing is trying to revive a repealed version or create a new one to subvert the will of the people at the ballot box.149 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Greg Bowens

Rein in some better DecencyThis petition is about extreme indifference to human life, here in Florida. Yes, my family and I have been affected by the negligence of others in this way, but the issue at hand here is so much more massive then us.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Andrew Tirado

Forgiveness of Repayment of $7500 Buyer Tax CreditMany first time home buyers who purchased their homes in 2008 applied for a tax credit of $7500. This credit is to be repaid over 15 years at $500 per year with no interest. However, the following year the tax credit was raised to $8000 and there is NO repayment required for this credit. This is unfair to those who purchased their home a year before. I have been repaying my loan over the last couple of years through my taxes and during these difficult economic times, it has been tough knowing your refund will be less $500 a year for many more years to come. Those homeowners who purchased their homes in 2008 should be afforded the same benefit as the homeowners who enjoyed the $8000 first time home buyer credit and they should be forgiven the amount of the credit for the remaining years of the repayment term. In a fragile economy, many homeowners can use the extra $500 every year to offset the increasing costs of living. Those who received the $7500 credit should be forgiven from having to repay those funds just as those who claimed the $8000 credit a year later. It is not fair to punish those homeowners who purchased a year earlier by making them repay a loan that many others received (and $500 more) and do not have to repay every year.1,433 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Anthony Mas

Transparency and resident representation in corporation annexations and zoning changesIn the past three years our city has gone through alot of physical and boundary changes. Students were counted as residents without proper representation, land was annexed into the corporation despite overwhelming resident opposition, zoning applications seemed unevenly granted, blasting ordinances seeemed weak, public meetings were not timely or properly posted, and federal grants( RCTA) were mishandled.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Zenia Kuzma

South Dakota abortion law uses false informationSouth Dakota wants doctors to lie to women seeking abortion by forcing doctors to inform women that having an abortion increases their risk of suicide. As one of my family members committed suicide, I find this law to be not only demeaning to a woman's choice regarding pregnancy, but to the very real problem of suicide. The law is based on faulty, misrepresented information and is merely fear-mongering on the part of the lawmakers.358 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Wendy Taylor

Repeal The Limitation on funding for educationThe average college student will not graduate in four years; therefore, the limitation on Pell Grants should be repealed. Millions of underprivileged students rely on this source of funding for education.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ann Marie Muhammad

Citibank, hand over the proof! In 2007, Citibank claimed my 85-year-old mother was overdrawn on her checking account by almost $4,500. They got her to take out a 30-year HELOC loan for $10,000, with a 3-year prepayment penalty, to pay off this alleged "overdraft", although she didn't need it. I feel that this was a form of "Financial Elder Abuse". I have repeatedly asked to see documentation to prove Citibank's claim that my mother was ever overdrawn. They have refused.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Debra Goodman
